+1That horse farm his dad bought in Lexington many years ago will now come in quite handy! [laughing]
And how would that work, exactly? You really believe Stoops would accept having Steve Spurrier second-guessing him? I can't think of any head coach who would tolerate that.Plus, it would allow us an inroad into bringing the elder Spurrier around more in a consultant role.

I wonder why he wasn't retained by Muschamp? The guy is one helluva WR coach. Or was it simply a case of Spurrier Jr. not wanting to work for Muschamp? I couldn't say I would blame him in the least if that were the case.
Ah well, if their loss can become our gain, I'll take it. I don't think one could find a WR coach with a better resume than Spurrier Jr. He's had some amazing receivers while at South Carolina. What I am curious about is his recruiting ability. Being he was the recruiting coordinator down there, he must have been pretty good in that capacity. Maybe he can give us additional inroads into places like the Carolinas and Florida when it comes to recruiting.

The staff consistently failed on evaluations and development of skill players.
This...just because this guy is Spurrier's son doesn't mean he is a chip off the old block...look at the difference in the Stoops brothers...And how would that work, exactly? Spurrier Jr. And the rest of the staff got canned BECAUSE of their lack of urgency on recruiting. Sr. Even admitted that they mailed it in these last few years on recruiting because they thought the success of those years of 11 win seasons would sell itself. I live in Columbia and have been on this train ride for the last 2 seasons. The staff consistently failed on evaluations and development of skill players. USC had one maybe 2 options last year on offense. I feel bad for Cooper because playing for that damn team hurt his draft position I think. Perry Orth walked on through one of the Carolina QB camps here.
HBC Jr. would be an incredible get for us. That's why I can't believe it, but so was Vince Marrow and we got him. Dear football coach in the sky, please let us be this lucky.

I call that " the tubby syndrome ". That is exactly what happened with him ,Spurrier Jr. And the rest of the staff got canned BECAUSE of their lack of urgency on recruiting. Perhaps an administrative role...Executive AD/Football Development or something...would actually be really great for the program to start bringing in some elder football minds...
always thought that is what we needed...thought Papaw Brooks would have been great in that kind of role, still wish they would bring him aboard in the Admin...
how great would it be to have those two just to help out in the film room, scout team, and individual drills?
I don't know that CMS would have to worry...Ole ball coach retired...if he has any inkling of coaching again I highly doubt he would want to wear himself out here...perhaps this would be just the gig...he could take it easy as a consultant/admin. and maybe wait for a gig to pop or transition into the booth...
This may all be gossip...but it's exactly the kind of step UK needs to take...bringing in football people to help...
I may be wrong but I think Spurrier said the only coaching hecwould be interested in would be highschool ball.
No laughing for him the last two years. It takes people at UK being serious about our program. We haven't tried to actually compete in the sec in a meaningful way in a long time. Spurrier knows this about UK that's why he laughs at us and our administration and puts us down. Change th people in charge and it will change the program. The only way.
No laughing for him the last two years.
Never know about him, think that had more to do with Curry. These UT fans where I live feel they were #1 on his hate list!Which was awesome I must say. Even in losing he was still a smart *** toward our program. Spurrier hates and has always hated UK.

That's exactly what he said. It's amazing how some of these people translate that into he wants to hang around the UK football offices when he isn't playing golf. It's as if that would be their dream job so it should be HBC's too.
Nobody said it would be his dream job lol. You're such a tool, but at least you're consistently a tool. You certainly don't stray away from your real personality.
By the way, for the record, I'm pretty sure he said he would "coach high school ball, or be an offensive coordinator or QB coach somewhere, or something"
