He does hate UT, but he respects them to an extent. He just laughs at UK. But we deserve it. We have people in charge milking the fans for losing products and we continue to just love it. We truly deserve disrespect.
He may laugh at UK but Stoops has beat his *** the last couple of years. And considering how little I think of Stoops coaching at the moment, makes me laugh at Spurrier.

If memory serves, wasnt Marrow an unknown GA at Nebraska?

Just to be clear, we Kentucky, hired someone away from Nebraska, someone Nebraska tried to desperately keep, then kept him from going to Michigan. I'd say that for Kentucky Football that is an insane feat. My point was just like we only got Marrow because of a previous relationship with Mark Stoops we'd only be in the conversation to get little Spurrier because of a family connection. Anyone who thinks we shouldn't want Junior I disagree so much it is useless to respond individually and say why. We'll just have to agree to disagree. Go Cats.

Perhaps an administrative role...Executive AD/Football Development or something...would actually be really great for the program to start bringing in some elder football minds...

always thought that is what we needed...thought Papaw Brooks would have been great in that kind of role, still wish they would bring him aboard in the Admin...

how great would it be to have those two just to help out in the film room, scout team, and individual drills?

I don't know that CMS would have to worry...Ole ball coach retired...if he has any inkling of coaching again I highly doubt he would want to wear himself out here...perhaps this would be just the gig...he could take it easy as a consultant/admin. and maybe wait for a gig to pop or transition into the booth...

This may all be gossip...but it's exactly the kind of step UK needs to take...bringing in football people to help...
I didn't mean in my earlier post that UK would put Spurrier senior on the payroll, just that he could be brought in periodically as a consultant. Somebody for Stoops to lean on for advice or to help develop an offensive identity.

Stoops lets brother Bob and brother Mike visit and put in their 2 cents. Stoops probably even listens to Brooks somewhat & Stoops talks to B. Beilema.
So I don't see why letting the Ole Ball Coach occasionally visit and offer his 2 cents would be out of the question.

With that said, we are talking about advice that leads to minor tweaks not towards making wholesale changes.

Gamecock fan here. FWIW, most of us regard SOS Jr. as a good WR coach. BUT, he is also widely regarded as the beginning of the end of the Spurrier era when he was appointed as recruiting coordinator 3 years ago. He was lazy at best and delegated too much authority to the position coaches. It has been reported by insiders that he hated traveling and using social media.

I think UK would find him to be a decent position coach, but do not count on him being any recruiting help.

Appreciate the info. Who will Muschamp be filling out his staff with other than those announced?

Thanks for the info. That's pretty much what I was expecting. If he is the new WR coach I am fine with it. We have mostly recruiters on the staff and very few good position coaches. Marrow is our RC and he does a good job at it. If Spurrier jr can get better performance from the players we already have then it will be a good get.

Why stop at WR's? Give him passing game coord. He could also be a co-recruiting coord or something since he had the recruiting coordinator role at SCAR.

We truly hope you put him in charge of your recruiting. Ours dropped drastically when he was put in that position at SC. But I do think he's a very good wide receivers coach.

Marrow was a GA at Nebraska. What specifically did Nebraska offer him to stay?

I'm not sure what was on the table ever came out. However Vince had gotten a special exemption to recruit for one of their assistants who had been hurt and unable to travel or at least that's the story Nebraska gave the NCAA so Marrow could get out on the road. When Vince decided to leave the story they gave was that Bo told him to leave and I'm sure he did once Vince told Bo he was taking the job. He was their #1 recruiter as a GA in his 1st year on the road and true star on the rise as evident by what he has done at UK and the offer he got from Michigan.
