Former Arkansas coach Mike Anderson has been hired as the next head coach of St. John's, the school announced Friday.

You as a Wildcat fan should want Arkansas to become relevant again. It would mean that your weak a$$ conference could stiffen up a little. It's the difference between playing in a two team league every year versus playing in a big boy league like the ACC.
Never is a strong word. Arky has a lot of support for the basketball program, they just need the right hire, like most any other program. I was surprised Mike A. didn't get it done, he came in at the time riding high boosting up UAB and had qualifications.
From what I've read, St. John's really whiffed on several targets before getting Anderson. Some of those included Bobby Hurley, Porter Moser of Loyola Chicago, and Cluess at Iona. Anderson has no previous New York ties but seemed to be the best guy that St. John's could get.
