Good reminder these comments were in August and don't really tip the hand on any relevant feelings to what decision Jackson would make going forward.

If he said that in August I do think it’s relevant since he sounded pretty decisive at a time when the odds were predicting a 4 win season. Thus it seems it would take more than a 5-7 season to make a change this year. We’re closer to 7-3 than we are to 3-7. Previous losing seasons we weren’t competitive and this year except for the bad opener at Tulane (currently in CFP rankings) we were in the other losses to CFP ranked teams at least till half, and should have beat CFP ranked Mich and probably Nebraska.

The portal including QB and WR will be critical this offseason as will be Braun and Lujan hopefully getting some mentoring and consulting with experienced coaches.

I remember Jackson enthusiastically hugging the Coach Braun on the sidelines after the PSU win but that was before NU’s 3 loss slide. We’ve been competitive in our losses but I think NU needs another win to secure Braun’s tenure to open the new stadium. Tough call, especially with the need/desire to fill the new stadium. Big decision by Jackson and the NU bigwigs with so much at stake for the program.
