just heard the Stanford WBB coach (Van somebody) commenting on LSU gymnast Livvy Dunne and NIL. She was very negative and hostile about this. IMHO the LSU gymnast is one of the best examples of NIL value. she is using her fame and assets to parlay into sponsors and ads for products. This is exactly what NIL is about - the individual value. The Stanford coach said it was setting women's sports back years. She also talked about NIL value and the need to be "equitable" for the team members, but NIL is not about paying for sport participation. it is about the individual value - just like an entrepreneur starting a business. She further thought something "should be done" to prevent this "type of thing".
I found it interesting that a coach in WBB is commenting about an athlete in another sport, and seemed to have no clue what NIL was about. why say anything? not your sport and not your athlete.

. But I think Stanford’s coaches point is that she is using her *** instead of her assets. Women are trying to get recognized for their ability in the sport not her good looks. Thus she believes this hurts women. Your mileage may vary.
