Does anyone know or have you heard anything about him? What did he grade out in the draft? Any chance he comes back?

Last I understood he was coming back. He was thinking about it and maybe even tested the waters but again, last I knew he was looking forward to working with Frost and his new WR coach. My OPINION only, I think he comes back and smashes it underneath Frost and his new QB.

He will be back and drop 30% of passes thrown to him next year. That really impresses nfl scouts from what I hear... kind of joking, good receiver. Will be happy if he comes back.

His best work is still ahead of him. He could definitely use a strong showing his senior year to prove to scouts he can be a consistent producer.

I find his comment, "finally got a new coach" strange. Was it the uncertainty of who the ew coach would be, or that the team was tired of losing? I find it hard to believe the team wouldn't have an inkling of who the next coach will be.

I don't know what he is going to do, but would think that he would be better off coming back. Also, the only grades they give out anymore is a 1st or 2nd round grade.
I just don't see him getting drafted at this point. Maybe have a good senior year with fewer drops he does.

From what he actually did for us this past season I can easily over look some of the drops he had. Hell dude made as many one handed grabs as he did drops. He will have a good showing his senior year. I love having him back and hope he breaks that 1000 yards this season. He came so close last year and that was with one game missed and no bowl game.

Even with the occasional drops...Stanley Morgan would have a much better chance of getting drafted based on his performance on the field than Nick Gates does. Winking

I'm not a big fan of bagging on players but here I go. I really like SM as a Freshman. But soured on him when he had that temper tantrum at TA late in the season last year over a bad pass. Then he followed it up with a declaration that new leadership was coming from within the players the next year and declaring himself as one of them. Well he led the team in dropped passes.

I think if he comes back he has a chance of really improving if he gets the right coaching and a little less talk from his position coach. He certainly has the skills but needs a more focused team attitude.

I've had a similar souring on him. I hoping his maturing process culminates this year under new leadership. As talented as he is, starting fresh should help him refocus and hopefully improve his attitude.

SM could be an unbelievably productive WR this coming year. His st. line speed is questionable, but if he improves his hands and can run a high 4.4ish 40, I could see him being a 3rd round prospect.

If he declares, he'd better hope that 40 time is there, or I doubt he gets picked before the 5th round and I'm being nice. Late rounder or free agent.

Would be a good idea to come back, IMO.

But soured on him when he had that temper tantrum at TA late in the season last year over a bad pass.
That was in the first quarter of a 10-40 loss to Iowa. TA looked flat and was not having a good game. He in fact ended up 13-35 for 37% passing. If I remember right SM was going over the middle with a lot of green in front of him and TA threw it low and behind him. SM reached back for the catch, but missed it. I don't mean to argue with you, but I was sort of happy that at least one player seemed to have some fire during that game. I had no problem with his tantrum.

I actually gained some respect for him for standing up to TA and not putting up with his finger pointing BS.

He's one of the best receivers in the Big 10.

He’d be drafted if he declared. I have no doubt on that. He’d likely be drafted between the 4th & 6th rounds. However, holding out until the 2019 draft, Stanley could easily find himself drafted in the top 2 rounds. And by waiting one year to move up 3 or 4 rounds will pay for itself via the signing bonus. Even with losing one years salary and one years payout of a smaller signing bonus. Financial the move is for Stanley to say.

Also, if your a top 2 round pick, teams tend to give way more leeway on a learning curve. If player A) & player B) are the exact same at OTAs and In the preseason, but player A) is a 2nd round pick and player B) was drafted in the 5th. Player A) will make the team while player B) is cut.

I assume that Stanley received a solid report from the NFL committee but didn’t receive a 1 or 2 grade. I believe he probably has a good idea that next year he can be a 1 or a 2 and I hope for him, he understands what that means. Gates and Lee will never be 1 or 2’s . They will likely be drafted late be it this year or next: so there’s really nothing to lose for them by declaring.
