I like this as I was never one of the people that thought we needed multiple Star Wars movies in a year, even though I have enjoyed both standalones. They were headed that way with the standalones. I like that they will be focusing on the Johnson trilogy and B&W series of movies.

Solo floundered because of the bad taste The Last Jedi left in their mouth.

It's a shame because Solo was an enjoyable movie.

Now Disney is turning the franchise over to the guy that might have ruined the franchise?

This.

Can’t wipe out Han and Luke and 99.99% of the rebellion in two movies and expect any different.

It’s better than Lucas would have done (which is nothing, ultimately he started the lazy **** show decades ago) but Disney could have been far smarter and more respectful about how they wrapped up VII/VIII/IX.

There’s a huge whiteboard for IX at this point that I fear will be filled by shallow, politically correct and widely diverse creatures that will look more like the conclusion of Avatar than where things could and should have gone. Particularly the arc of Luke who should have been at the absolute core of these films along with Rey and petulant Ben (who is a great actor but a character that’s more pitied than feared, not remotely close to the power and presence of Palpatine or Vader).
