Start Carr at the 5 moving forward

Start Carr at the 5. Bring Williams/Garrison off the bench. Insert Brea into the starting lineup. Stretch the floor more. Williams is zero threat outside and takes too many terrible shots down low. And we need to get Carr going early consistently moving forward.

The issue is that Pope then has to put Oweh at the 4, where he would get manhandled.

Almonor isn't physical either. There's a real issue on this team with depth when it comes to seeking physicality.

We just don't have it.

The main priority now should be expanding our NIL donations so that we have a more expansive financial reach going into next spring.

Yea I’m losing any affection I had for Williams. Body language is horrible and he’s pretty much a below the rim 7 footer. I’d like to see Garrison take his spot. I still think Carr is better at the 4, but they shoulda posted him more on the block tonight.

It needed to happen a long time ago.

Neither Williams nor Garrison bring enough to the table to be in the starting 5. With the horses we have, it’s better to leave both of those dudes in the stable as much as possible.

This would work if Robinson was more physical or Oweh was about 6’6 instead than 6’4 and would rely on us being more deliberate in creating room and shots for Brea because he just isn’t as valuable when he’s trying to create vs spot up and catch in rhythm for his shot. We can’t fix the first two, but could potentially fix the Brea piece. It would require a lot from Robinson and Oweh physically though.

"We?"

I could have sworn you were just a troll, posing as a UK fan, and only coming here to stir the pot after a loss.

Maybe I mistook you for someone else.

I’m a fan. One of the biggest Cal haters there ever was. The very one whom years ago posted the thread about Cal Trending Down.

Brea is damn near unplayable against teams with penetrating guards. He couldn’t guard a picket fence.

Mr 4 rebounds? He needs to bust his *** more on the boards or he can go from the 4 to our backup small forward.

I don't give a **** about body language. At least Amari gets rebounds and plays some defense

Start BG at 5, atleast he is active on D but Carr can’t play hot potato with the ball like he did tonight. He still passes up too many shots I think in the paint & from 3.

Then we should go zone more with him in. Play more like we did against Gonzaga in the second half. We have to try something different. We've been trending in the wrong direction for a bit even if this was just our second loss.

I think Pope definitely should’ve went small tonight. Hell, Williams isn’t gonna block a damn shot anyway. Might as well.

Most of the team($) is already accounted for if you pencil Wilson in who isn’t physical either. Caleb, Jasper, Otega, Acaden, and Garrison(assuming we didn’t mutually decide to part ways) probably combine for 4-5+ mill in NIL next season.

Garrison will be the talk of the offseason I can already see it. Can Pope go into next season with Garrison and Moreno as the 5s with Wilson and a better Almonor depth guy at the 4. Will be fascinating.

If we find out quickly that we cannot guard SEC teams, maybe we just need to go zone a lot more and hope teams miss … ???

I definitely wanna see BG in the starting lineup! He gives more effort and energy than Williams. Williams and Jaxson’s body language kills me. They both sulk when the chips are down

Yeah, that guy was lazy today. Slow to get down court, wouldn't body up on defense.

These conversations are funny. Robinson has been brutally bad also.
I’ve been disappointed in Robinson. I’m glad he’s here and I know he’s better than anyone else we’d have playing in his spot but he’s not nearly as good as I thought he’d be.

Some on this board thought he’d be an upgrade over Thiero. I’m not even sure he’s shooting the three at a better clip than Adou, but he’s certainly shooting a lot more threes than Adou.

Garrison and Moreno at the 5 next year is gonna be brutal offensively. They're both raw as can be. Pope better hit the portal hard for a good 5.
