I will say that playing hard wasn’t the issue last night maybe than a couple rebounds they quit on. The problem runs much deeper than effort. These guys are out of position, terrible lineups, not playing to the teams potential strength, spacing is garbage ( clogging the lane with two bigs, while a guard is trying to go ISO) This is 1000000% on Pope.

This is mind boggling.

This is mind boggling.

When I see that it strikes me as either a confidence issue or a focus issue. I don’t think Oweh (for example) lacks confidence, so I’m guessing it is a focus issue.

That doesn't shock me. The majority of the team seems more focused on NIL and their Instagram feed shilling than improving as basketball players. If not, then on their girlfriends, wives, or kids. Can’t fault them on those last ones but we definitely have lots of distractions on this team and I think NIL has made that much worse. That isn't an excuse though. Other teams and coaches have managed to minimize those distractions and still perform. Our coaching staff doesn’t seem to know how to run a modern college basketball program.

Half of those shouldn't have been layups. They should have been two hand power dunks. But for some reason, our big guys don't want to dunk the ball unless it's a wide open unguarded flush.

What is the team’s potential strength? This team seems not to have one.

Good point! Oweh in ISO or throw it in the post. Put a shooter in each corner and hope JQ could draw some double teams. Or…….we suck at all aspects which is most likely the case.

Joe B. Hall did that in a NCAAT game back in the day in the 2nd half. Benched the starters except Macy and played the subs to send a message. Message received and UK won the game.

I don't think these guys care as much, they're peddling their hats on IG right after a SEC home loss.

Good - then just let them play. The deserve playing time more than the others right now anyway.

If we do that then we will see them on IG flashing their money, saying that regardless if they play or not, they are still getting paid!

It would be the most entertaining game of the year, and I guarantee they would play their butts off

Zach Tow
Walker Horn
Reece Potter
Braydon Hawthorne
Trent Noah
I’m sure Hawthorne doesn’t want to waste a year of earnings on this squad, but I can’t believe he’s not better than what we have seen so far.

Agreed. Noticed that too Especially on Moreno and MO. Garrison is the only one not shy to dunk it. Besides Oweh , JJ and Chandler our guards don’t pass the ball to the bigs in the dunking spot properly. It’s also we are not using our bigs properly but that’s coaching. Calipari was better than Pope on using and developing the bigs.

Did not even look like basketball to me. Can someone tell me WTF happened after the Purdue game??
