A loss is loss is a loss.

Were they mediocre due to a lackluster recruiting class or was it coaching?

I was at that game. With about a minute to play, Glenbard South scored and their coach went for the two point conversion. The booing was so loud (including his own crowd) that he sent in the kicker.

What a jerk.

He had been on Frank's staff at one time, but left. I'm not sure why, but I'm just glad that he did.

Frankly, GE, I can't remember a school that wanted to beat us as badly as yours. You might be setting yourselves up for a huge let-down if you do win.

MC63,

You are a crazy, old, coot and I love ya, but don't kid yourself about how important and vested all of MC nation is in the outcome of this game (and especially Dean and MW).

Some people might call starting a new thread for every score by MC over Leo on a Thursday afternoon a little over the top, but not me. You are just a dedicated MC alum.

Stat of the day update :

Mount Carmel has never scored an IHSA playoff point in Glen Ellyn.

Perhaps not, but how many state trophies did ALL THREE GB schools earn. Anything like twelve? Wanna trade?

Truly the old coot stuff applies. I'm 70 and I have no significant health issues. This Wednesday, I'll commemorate another Veterans Day. I'll be thinking about my three classmates who died as a result of Vietnam. What a horrible waste.

Re MC fans and Leo scores ... when I'd be travelling overseas, I had trouble getting a strong enough signal that I could open Edgy messages easily. If someone updated the score in the subject line, it saved me a lot of trouble.

Keep up your enthusiasm for your school. Good luck in Rockford. To be honest with you, I never heard of Rockford Auburn before -- despite having family in Rockford.

MC has a valid point. With all the success GBW has had the last 8-10 seasons, they have just one state title to show for it. That run includes back-to-back exits at home in the semi finals.

cant believe GW only has 2 titles all time. This year MC had been blown out twice. LOVE Liberyville matched up with them. #POY

Thank you for your service MC (I am assuming). I can only imagine how hard it was to lose friends in that hell hole. I grew up in the late 70's /early 80's so never experienced what you and your contemporaries had to go through. Cheers

Did Dean make a prediction about the Caravan offensive play count and the 50 yard line?

What was the over/under on Caravan plays in GW territory without scoring?

MC63,

GEPreps:

You are underestimating people here.

Unlike your respectable brethren, Silver Helmets, jdhitters and capnbillhitters, all of whom post regularly and enlighten the forum with insight into GW football, you have taken to this forum to antagonize. Judging from the re-action of one GW member, you may not enjoy support because they, too, recognize your intentions.

I called you out last week and described with great accuracy your posting motif during the season. You were wringing your hands all season about classifications. Not wanting to give any material to potential opponents, you remained in the margins until it was evident you were in 7A and would play Dean's Caravan.

Although you have not explicitly stated your pleasure over the second-round win GW earned over MC, your posts explicitly imply it. Clever, but poorly disguised.

If you care to re-call, I posted I thought GW would beat MC; privately, I confided in two posters I thought GW would win 21-7.

Make no mistake: I think no more of you than the dirt under my feet, but I will depend with full trust and confidence on jdhitters, Silver Helmets and capnbillhitters for guidance on GW football as well as the remainder of the WSC division which GW is a member.

They may have joined recently; however, unlike you, their posting patterns suggest they will remain loyal to GW and the forum regardless of GW's fortunes this year and into the future.

You may want to retreat a bit with the "crazy, old coot" smear. Attempting to discredit a member here because of age is useless. MC63 isn't too much older than I am.

No wise man ever wished he was younger................

I think it was equal to be number of points GBW has scored at home against the NSC in the last two semis at Duchon. That's 10 right?

You forgot to include @chuck998 , @Hilltopper94 , Lloyd the Bartender ...
I am glad they are all making new friends.I don't need any more.

Oh yeah, just in case you choose to remain clueless about my viewpoint of the outcome from Saturday afternoon, I am ecstatic that GW defeated Mt Carmel.

If you refuse to reveal, even subtly, your academic pedigree, I will trumpet mine: Double major at ND; I graduated *** laude; and earned a MA from highly-selective Northwestern University, where I graduated summa *** laude.

I am truly greatful that an individual with your vast academic resume' would honor an undereducated midwestern public university grad such as myself with your tantalizing insights into the athletes of secondary education.

Thank you

Yah because only guys with degrees from Northwestern are successful and smart.

Very true, but only in the world of the Wittmaster.

Apparently, he feels that trying to belittle me somehow does not reflect on any other posters to this forum that do not meet his lofty, academic exploits. Or maybe he just gets mixed up between the Edgy login and the scholarly subreddits that he frequents.

You remind me of an often used phrase on this here message board......."better to remain silent and be thought of the fool, then to open ones mouth and remove all doubt." College educations cant fix dumb.
