You can play the game, but you have to be able to get to it, and get home from it. In this case, campus is closed.
So you’re saying no one is going to the Illinois/northwestern game tomorrow? Most of the teams if not all have hotel reservations and charter busses…who’s going to pay that expense now X2? Silly people, football is made to be played in all weather except hurricanes, tornadoes, and Lightening!

Isu closed it's campus. It doesn't sound like the decision had anything to do with being able to play football or not.

Jha I’m sure y'all want to play football, and shame on ISU for closing! I’m certain if they were hosting an FCS game they’d be open for the game. This is just plain soft! This should prove they don’t deserve to be the host!

Are you reading what you wrote? This isn’t about football anymore it’s about safety and more so common sense. Common sense prevailed from ISU. If this causes them to lose the contract that’s an IHSA issue not an ISU problem
Newt, we’ve agreed over the years more oft than not, But this is nonsense at best and if presented an issue should have been decided when Edgy point out the weather issue rather than the day before. Football has pretty much always scoffed at weather and now a lil bit of snow is an issue? Which team(s) wasn’t planning to stay in Normal tonight?

Why would the safety of those involved be a priority. I guess I wouldn’t expect a Penn State supporter to want to protect kids.
I support many teams my friend not just Penn State, check my other point, if the Illini cancel their game with northwestern tomorrow evening then I’ll have to eat my words.

Most of them for sure the 8A and 7a teams. Most of the officials won’t be there yet either.

Normally I’d think this is weak but this isn’t your typical storm and the amount of snow expected rivals the semis from a few years back.

And it’s not just getting there it’s getting home as well.

Normally the IHSA isn’t very common sense laden. In this case they made the right call.

Newt,

The semis were played! I was out there standing in the driving snow at STL and then at Marist freezing my butt off!

You were asked a simple yes or no question, I will rephrase it, "Were you going to attend in person a game(s) at Illinois State tomorrow?"
I thought my answer was a clear yes, but unlike politicians I answered again.

Welp, I was already factoring in the weather to slow down the teams with more team speed and perimeter weapons. But now we’re back to neutral in that regard. PC, Fenwick, and Oswego had to be opportunistically excited for the prospects of blizzard like conditions morphing a track meet into a street brawl. If we go to Monday or Tuesday we could be back to track meet. SF, ESL, and MC definitely benefit from that.
