I was surprised that happened... I didn't think anybody in Alabama cared that much about hoops.

To be fair that was one fans actions and there was a loud boo that went through the arena.

That's what I took from it as well. Alabama typically extends us respect during basketball season.

Typical SEC basketball with the exception of Rupp Arena. The fans will boo EVERY single call that goes against them no matter how obvious it is.

I get so sick of it.

I have attended two football games at Alabama, and both times cups, drinks, etc were thrown at us. We had just cheers for our side, not confronted or called out any other fans.

My opinion is that they are very sore losers.

Vitale the screaming banshee said we needed to "lacem' up tight" for this one. I think we could have beaten them barefoot.

Yeah that was pretty sad to see. The near aneurystic meltdown by that screaming fan at the end was pretty sad as well

As for Dick Vitale predicting this as a tough game for UK, he wasn't alone in that. This was supposed to be one of UK's toughest games, but they dominated.

That game was a thing of beauty!

Exactly, Bama fans are usually very good to us. Don't put all of them in the same boat as the one who threw the bottle.

Guys this could very well end up being the Mother of all UK teams and the rest of the SEC doesn't like it one bit.
The hate is only going to get worse as this team marches on towards history.

Was Damian Harris in the crowd? I hear he loves to hang out with his basketball bro's. As long as it's free that is.

Would be nice because he has a lot more of these smashings coming if he visits his "basketball friends."

i don't get why someone would be so mad that they would throw something.

I mean...he couldn't have thought that they were going to win....

No excuse for that behavior and we shoulda got to shoot technical to cover the over. Damnit! But we did get a favorable, but inconsistent whistle IMO

Obnoxious drunk college students don't really need that good of a reason to do something stupid. This fact applies to ALL student bodies.

I actually spotted a cardfan in the crowd. Maybe he was the one throwing things, because he was mad that Bama did not win.

Fla.cat- if you have been to a couple of football games at Bama, then u don't know if they are sore losers. Kentucky has never won at Bama in football. Ever. ;)

Other than that incident the fans were very respectful, I really enjoyed chatting with them and they were very praising of UK. You are right about some of their fans booing every call they did not get but weren't obnoxious about it. I sat right across aisle from Wimp Sanderson who had a blue shirt with a beige sweater on just the blue collar shining through after game I shook his hand and told him that blue shirt brought us good luck, he said " all those good players y'all have is what brought your good luck".

UK winning handily really pissed off ESPN because the Sports Center on ESPNU gave UK the short shift near the end of the program.

UK was scheduled to lose and instead they beat the **** out of the tide.

Our players were laughing at something....I assume it was the guy who threw it but something funny must have happened. Would like to know if anyone on here that went to the game.

On another note. In the 247 alabama thread. Alabama fans were saying that they should have thrown it at grant. Lol

One bottle from from drunken idiot does not a sweeping generalization make.

Having family from Alabama, most of the ones I know root for us except when they are playing us.
It is in the same manner as when Alabama is playing for the NC in football. If we don't have a legitimate shot at it I wont someone from our conference to win it.

My brother in law is a HUGE Bama fan, an alum, and his kid plays on the FB team. That said, in 2010 he told me Cal was a cheater and scoffed when I tried to defend him.

Needless to say, I don't root for Bama like ever.
