Crazy ending to a game with a couple very scary incidents..What should Myles Garret's punishment be? IMO minimum of suspension for rest of the season, life time ban? maybe too harsh, but league may decide to set an example.Markice Pouncey, kicked Garrett in the head after the helmet hit,I think he gets 2 games, emotions aside, you cant do that.Damarious Randall, viscious helmet to helmet hit, cant say that he targeted Johnson, plays in the NFL happen so fast,i think he gets 2 games as well. How do you think the NFL will handle these incidents...BTW these guys play again Dec 1 in Pittsburg, should be a barn burner of a game.

Man that was crazy. I think it’s clear Garrett gets the rest of the season. I think ten games is what they’ll do. Pouncey i agree will be 2. I think the others ejected get 1 or possibly just fines. I’d also suspend Rudolph for a game as well. He’s hardly innocent here.

Reminded me a little of the old NFL except the players were man enough to go fist with fist instead of taking off a players helmet and trying to hit him in the head with it. That's a criminal charge . OFC

Thanks Browns! As it stands the Raiders are in the playoffs! WOOT! Long way to go but we got two winnable games coming up. Bungles and Jets.

That was really ugly. Hitting a guy with a helmet is assault. I hope the guy is suspended the rest of the year with a massive fine.

I also agree with the statement of some kind of penalty for Rudolph.

Man, the Browns are a joke.

As someone who hates the Steelers more than anything, I hope Rudolph does not get suspended, that guy is terrible, let him keep playing!
Maurkice Pouncey is probably going to get suspended 1 or 2 games but personally i have no problem with what he did. If i got whacked in the head with a helmet I’d hope one of my teammates backed me up like he did.

I think Garrett should be suspended for the rest of the season, hit with a huge fine and I wouldn’t against him being banned from the NFL. It takes a real punk to rip a guy’s helmet off and hit him on the head with it and it could be looked at as assault with a deadly weapon. As for the other players involved in the brawl, I think Pouncey will probably get a mult game suspension and a hefty fine for punching and kicking Garrett. The rest of the players will probably get 1-2 game suspensions and fines.

Rudolph is lucky he got hit with the one part of the helmet that he got hit with. He got hit with the little white thing on the back of the helmet which is padded and isn’t as hard.

Who got cheap shotted first? I thought I saw Garrett get kicked in the head while on the ground, leading up to the rest of the fracas. I agree with what has been said so far. I also think the initial instigator needs to be punished severely too.

I would say that Rudolph got cheap shouted first when Garrett ripped his helmet off and hit him in the head with it after Garrett basically body slammed him when he hit him late.

So you choosing to ignore the kick in the nuts and helmet pull by Rudolph before all that took place?
Did you watch the game?

It was clear that was the game plan for the Browns...first there was helmet to helmet to Juju and concussed him and knocked him out of game...followed by Helmet to helmet on Rudolph that wasn’t called...followed by Helmet to Helmet to Johnson the #2 receiver and he had blood running out his ears as he laid concussed on the field...knocked him out of the game...the game was extremely dirty...

Refs where the problem...they let it escalate and get out of hand. It was pretty clear what was happening..

The play in question...was a late Hit on Rudolph in a game that was over with fifteen seconds left. After the late hit was unnecessary roughness in taking him to the ground the way he did...so yeah Rudolph went off..and kicked him in the nuts is what people who want it to happens see...he was actually pushing him off with his legs...then the helmet came off and then he swung it like Thor’s Hammer...

All in all it could of been under control from officials...it was very clear even on tv the vibe the game had from start to finish...everyone is lucky nothing serious happened...officials have been beyond terrible and none of this had to happen if they would of controlled the game..

Yes I watched every second. Did you watch the game? What does any of the prior crap have to do with it? It’s a rivalry game. That type of **** happens in literally every rivalry game in the NFL. Refs sucking also has nothing to do it. I get that you’re probably a Steelers fan but yes he absolutely kicked him in the nuts and tried to pull his helmet off. That is undeniable. What happened from there was obviously egregious, but lets not act like Rudolph (who sucks btw) is some type of poor innocent victim.

I’ll just say something different:

Fans who enjoy watching guys beat the ish out of each other suddenly get upset when an actual fight breaks out. Quite the irony.

Rudolph was the aggressor first off of a hit Garrett wasn't even flagged on. He had a crap game so he decided to take it out on Garrett after the hit by kicking him in the nuts and trying to twist his helmet off. I'm not arguing if Garrett overreacted or not, because he obviously did. But Rudolph deserved more than he got.

I think that’s an extreme take. There was 8 seconds left and the game was over. Myles Garrett held on way too long slamming the opposing QB to the ground not letting go. Why i have no idea? They were up two scores at home and the game was ending. Then Rudolph retaliated and then the melee ensued. It was crazy.
If it was in the middle of a tight game or something, I’d get your and Arian Fosters point, it’s hypocritical. But not when the game was essentially over already.

also rivalry? Lol

In my point the timing or score mean nothing. People sit around and expect these guys to kill their bodies and brains for entertainment yet raise hell when a fight breaks out? Come on....

Well, this was stupid.

I guarantee you’re one that screams at the TV when someone gets clocked at full speed, yet your panties get tight when a guy takes liberty in the heat of the moment. Poster of irony

And in my point it means everything. The game was over. If that’s the case why not be pissed when the D-line doesn’t go full monty in trying to strip the QB before he kneels the ball to run the clock out every week? It’s violent game, we all get it. But outside of Arian Foster (is that you?) i haven’t seen but one or two other players defend or excuse Garrett’s actions including his own teammates.

Again, Rudolph is no saint here either.

So you’re trying to argue something that I’m not concerned with. To step into your argument for a sec: both guys are at fault, and no you shouldn’t use a helmet as a weapon in a fight (although it’s used every play as one but I’ll stay in your space for another sec), and I don’t recall the Foster incident so I won’t comment there. Will he be suspended? Yes. Should he be? Up to the league, even in their mighty hypocrisy across the board.

Now back to my point: it’s ironic watching people who are satisfied and/or tolerant by the violence of the game yet go ballistic when a freaking fight breaks out. One of the many ways it’s ironic? Complaining it’s “wrong” and/or someone could get hurt. Really? Have you watched the game? Have you ever played it even at say a weak HS level? We glorify the violence of the sport yet we get upset when an altercation breaks out, and in your case you decide the subjective bookends of the setting and it’s implication(s).

Reading this one would think I’m a bleeding heart Liberal but I’m not. We have the freedom of having this sport here in America, but I’m not blind enough to laugh at and call out the irony.

We aren’t that far off, I brought up Arian Foster bc he is saying exactly the same thing you are. I get the premise but think it’s not that black and white. I get the gladiator aspect and ****, fights like this happen all the time in the heat of practice. My problem is simply, the game was already over. It’s not a big deal. Both parties were at fault, Garrett was the worse offender. He was suspended indefinitely and at min the rest of the season. Rudolph was fined.
The nfl is a business, so while they’re absolutely hypocritical, they have to run it as they pretend to care.

Agreed man. I’m not arguing to argue here (although you know I like a good back and forth lol), I just see irony here. It could be that I’ve lost a lot of love for football because of the way these guys literally kill their bodies and get tossed aside by the league and many fans. Ultimately it’s their decision to play and make money but I’m not sure the long term ROI is there for many players.

I’ve watched less NFL over the last few years than i have in my life. Flags on every play. I just don’t care. Luckily duke is back and we got that for the next four plus months!

It's totally different when you're making a football play that results in a great collision, but taking someone's helmet off and using it as a weapon is an entirely different thing.

The players understand the risk they take on their bodies, but they also know they can’t do anything else where they get compensated the same. They just don’t expect other professionals to assault them with a weapon. That’s exactly what Garrett did.

Lol you don’t think they prepare for things like this? It’s a war out there, and that hit was probably half of what some guys take in the bottom of the piles.

Lol, you come across as someone who never played the game. I played in college and there was a lot more cheap stuff that happened at the bottom of piles in high school than college. There's more trash talking at higher levels of play and there's more respect for each other as well. There's always going to be a few punks that takes cheap shots, but I don't think that's the norm.

Yes, I played in a power conference in MD//DC/NoVa..... it’s not Texas or Florida but we played teams from both states at one point. I chose hockey in college and juniors as my success there was more realistic long term. I don’t need a lesson in football - again as stated above it’s hilariously ironic watching people praise destruction of their bodies but get pissy when a fight breaks out. You seem to be going that way as well. LOL!
