Stephen A. Smith … does anyone here follow him and generally agree with what he has to say?

Jason Whitlock is an American Treasure. Too bad you are too foolish to recognize that.
You must be a Biden supporter.

It's pretty obvious that you leftist can't stand black conservatives. You really hate it when they don't follow the approved talking points.

You are about as dumb as humanly possible.

Not a Trump guy, so you obviously don't know me well. You come across as one of these smug leftists who think Blacks have to think a certain way, or they are betraying their race. The left hates it when blacks think independently.

You fail to realize.... Who gives a **** what color skin this all time pathetic human is. He is scum of the Earth, and it's not because he is black. If you want to make it about that, then it's on you.

Stephen A. is a jerk off, living well on the Disney Plantation. He considers Jason Whitlock to be a white Supremacists
That tells you all you need to know.

It's ok to admit you are wrong and tell us you have no idea about any of the Whitlock stuff. You might have to take your knee pads off first. If you want to defend a Nazi level equivalent human being, that's a bold hill to die on

Liberty and freedom for a select few apparently. What are your thoughts about him saying that women shouldn't be able to vote?
I don't support the idea of women not being able to vote. So I guess by your logic, and that of MPFB, Whitlock is scum, a Nazi and deserves to die . You white liberals hate it when a black man bucks the democratic party, and thinks for himself. You are the real racists.

You continue to insist on it having to do with the color of skin when it's blatantly obvious that isn't it. So you trying to force that narrative is the actual racist behavior

Stephan A is bit like Howard Cosell. Love him or hate him, but a tiny part of me thinks because Cosell was a brash Jew, and SA is an in your face brash black man, they got/get a little extra scorn tinged w the AS or R words.

Like I said, I like him.

Brah. You do realize Veebs is one of the more conservative posters on this site? Do you pay attention? Or do you just reflexively label anyone who doesn’t agree with your every opinion as a liberal?

Then why do you have such a problem with Whitlock, who takes a biblical view( if unconventional) of the family?
I don't recall anyone on this board complaining about Jemelle Hill, who made racists and anti American comments that were so vulgar, that even woke ESPN had to fire her. But Jason Whitlock? He must be stopped.

Because I'm a woman and I cannot and will not support anyone who advocates the removal of my right to vote or suggests I should never have had it in the first place!

I don't care if he reads the Bible or uses any other type of excuse for it, just last December he advocated for one household, one vote. NO. One citizen, one vote.

"Jesus was “born of a woman. Jesus was conceived and shaped in Mary’s womb. Mary is not only the bridge joining us to God; she is much more. She is the road God travelled in order to reach us, and the road that we must travel in order to reach Him."
I don't recall anyone on this board complaining about Jemelle Hill, who made racists and anti American comments that were so vulgar, that even woke ESPN had to fire her. But Jason Whitlock? He must be stopped.
Then either your recollection or your time here is slim at best.

I’m asking because, while I honestly don’t “follow” him, I have never agreed with a single sports–opinion thing he has ever said.

He’s a grating, irritating, and extremely arrogant POS who doesn’t know his ash from a can of corn. JMHO.

I rarely watch him. What little I know about him is that he does appear to have solid contacts in the NBA. And he rants about failures of the Dallas Cowboys. He’s so annoying that I usually just switch to another channel.

To me it was this type of arguing yelling shows and hosts that turned me off of ESPN. I rarely watch any show.

Yeah. The fake arguments are annoying. I do enjoy watching Cowherd though. He’s the only one that I will watch the entire show.

I have heard both Whitlock and Steven A Smith for 20 plus years. Remember Whitlock covering for Rome on his radio shows. Whitlock changed a lot and made his show that is directed towards his Christian beliefs/roots and I have nothing but respect for that approach. I completely disagreed with him not voting for Trump last election or endorsing him even if I am no longer the biggest Trump fan. To sum this up... If you aren't a Gospel/Bible believing Christian then you aren't going to like Jason Whitlock. He is flawed and admits it but so is everyone else including all Christians and that's why we put our trust in Jesus as Lord and Savior. Steven A Smith looks possessed by Satan and has given his life to the bad side in the life we live in and isn't recognized by an atheist. I've been reading these boards for 25 years but our country is messed up because of people like Steven A Smith and things are going to get ugly. Trust in Jesus.

Stephen A looks possessed by Satan? Im not a fan at all, but this is crazy talk. It’s a shtick and not how he behaves in his private life. He’s also a a practicing Christian, who’s mentor is Pastor AR Bernard of Brooklyns Christian Cultural Center.

This passage from his book perfectly describes the difference between he and Jason Whitlock

“Do I believe in the Lord? Yes,” Smith said. “Do I walk around wearing my religion on my sleeve? No. But as Pastor Bernard has told me before, I have a ways to go.”

“I am a Christian — not in the traditional sense — but I do love Jesus, and Pastor A.R. Bernard is my spiritual father,” he explained.

Also, can you explain why our country is messed up because of People like Stephen A Smith?
What does that mean?

And Trust in Jesus? Let me ask you a question. What do you think Jesus would think of Stephen A Smith and what do you think Jesus would think of Donald J Trump?

I don't think Steven A Smith has ever shown he's filled with the Holy Spirit and especially when he's been attacking Whitlock non stop and trying to break him emotionally and mentally. Whitlock has proven he is above Stephen A Smith's nonsense and has basically called him out for his nonsense... averaging 1 point a game in HS his senior year and showing up to a college scrimmage and getting a scholarship offer for making all his 3 pointers? From a school that was struggling financially? God will judge everyone in the end including Trump, Whitlock, Steven A Smith, you and I in the end and it will not be based on your works or what you did while you were here but if you believe in what Jesus did for you. He will judge those on if you believed that Jesus shed his blood on the cross to pay the price for your sins, that he was buried and rose on the third day and whoever may believe in Him as Lord and Savior will have everlasting life in Heaven. Once saved, always saved.

There is a lot one could respond to WRT all of your comments here. However, perhaps we might just ponder some of Whitlock's thoughts....

“if a man can afford a no-disease, no-pregnancy occasional night on the town without it affecting his financial and lovemaking responsibilities at home, as mature adults we must reach the point where we can allow this without breaking up the family or running a man from political office/off the set of a popular TV show."

“Monogamy was invented before women entered the workplace, text messaging, cell phones, Viagra, exercise, makeup, perfume, hair extensions, shaved legs, clothes that revealed cleavage, Internet porn and on and on."

“Any man earning more than $1 million a year should come and go as he damn well pleases."

Serena Williams "has no business losing a major to a baby's mama. And everyone knows damn well if Serena dropped 20 pounds and focused on her game, she'd be untouchable."

"When we were a culture that really valued family and really understood the natural order that God intended — man serving God, woman following man who serves God, man and woman developing and nurturing children — you only needed one vote per household because that vote was about the entire family."

"the patriarchy is a good thing. It is what God intended. Men are supposed to lead, men are supposed to be out front, taking risks. A woman in power is completely "out of her role."

"ESPN SportsCenter just led tonight's episode with 2 stories on women's college basketball. The first 6 minutes, a regular season Big Ten and SEC game. Who is paying for this? What percentage of sports fans does this serve?"

I 100% support his right to his opinion. However, he and you, couldn't do more to repel people from Christ if you tried. I don't even bother to consider whether I "like" the man. What I do consider is my dislike of his longstanding and ongoing blaspheming against women and their role in society and sport.

Jesus is God... God loves all sinners which is everyone including Whitlock, Steven A Smith, Trump, you and I. God knows everything about us including every hair on your head per the Bible. When all die, God will judge you and if you never seeked Him and had Faith in what Jesus did for you/believed in the Gospel then He will say depart from me and that He never knew you. Heaven or Hell.

People like Steven A Smith are showing real destructive behavior and influencing many people(several million) on his platform including people on this board to fight back with name calling and aggressive behavior which shows his thoughts are hatred which is aligned with the devil. God is love and about forgiveness. Since I watch Jason Whitlock often but not all the time, I've appreciated his "pre-born" sponsorship program which is about saving lives and other "fruit" that has been displayed on his recent television programs Fearless and Speak for yourself. I can't say the same about Steven A but it's possible I just don't watch enough of him? I have paid close enough attention to him again with his Whitlock feud. If his megachurch-multimillion dollar pastor Bernard is telling him to "handle his business" like that and not to forgive and love... says a lot about him too.

Women's voting rights... I think they should vote. I don't agree with everything that Whitlock has ever said. I've seen his change over 2 decades now.

Thanks for the name calling. I mocked Christians for many years myself. When I put my Faith and believed in Jesus, I became the one getting mocked. It comes with the territory though.

You are really good at name calling. Are Christians hypocrites? Absolutely. I guess you are not a hypocrite? Have you ever acted like one at all your whole life? So what does that make you? If you answered honestly, I guess we are still both hypocrites then? Have you lied or stolen anything ever? I'm sure we both have too. What does that make us? You see where this is headed if we keep pointing the finger at each other? I answered your question about what I think Jesus what think of Donald Trump. I will answer it again in a short summary... He knows he's a sinner, He loves him and knows everything about him. In other words, he's no different than you or I to him. We will all be judged in the end the same way. I'm already far ahead of you with this conversation and I will speed it up for you and anyone who cares to read because I am not always on this board but I have been following it since I can remember Mike Williams WR from Tampa Fl 3 star committing to USC. God hates sin. It's in our nature though as He's given us free will. He loves us all and he gives us all the opportunity down the final breath/heart beat to know Him. I already said what it says in the Bible that is 100% truth if you don't have a relationship with Him.

Stephen A. Smith called out Zion Williamson, then got trolled by the Pelicans X account
They pulled out his college stats

Stephen A. Smith's comments on Zion:
"It’s not about his game. It's about how many burgers he's eating. Whether he is going to be in shape or keep eating McDonald's... That's what he has to prove, that the chefs don't love him any longer"

That’s funny I guess, but he’s never claimed to have been great at Basketball. What he’s saying about Zion, which is harsh, there is some truth to it. Major talent who just can’t push away from the table. He’s 6’6” and his weight has ballooned to over 300lbs. As a 20 year old.
For context, Charles Barkley who is about the same height, weighed about 250 lbs when he was known as the round mound of rebound.
Zion is going to eat himself out of a crap ton of money.

"It's hard, man," Williamson said. "I'm 20, 22, have all the money in the world -- well, it feels like all the money in the world. It's hard," Williamson acknowledged on the 'Gil's Arena' podcast when asked about eating healthy food to stay in shape.

"I'm at that point now, because of certain things, I'm putting back the wisdom around me. I don't want to say older because they get defensive, but I'm putting people around me with wisdom. Put me on game to certain things. And just go from there."

His contract penalizes him for being overweight and he knows that. He needs a psychologist as well as a nutritionist. Dayum.

He really could have been the face of the NBA. Hes as they say, big boneded, so he’s never going to be slim, but if he can get his weight down to the 255-260 range and maintains it, the sky is still the limit for him. He has all the talent in the world.
