Those long passes were great, Hopefully he got his short pass problems worked out in Louisville if so with a little weight gain and a lot more practice he hopefully will be able to play a lot of games like he played against the Louisville. That game would have to be one of the best by a UK Quarterbacks especially under similar conditions.. Like a 27 point underdog!!

The guy was almost flawless and was really never bad all season except when it came out he had a hurt wrist

It's not hard to be a "favorite" UK quarterback but he is and I mean it well. Second place is Matt Roark, haha

Those were some mighty fine looking throws. Those throws are exciting. I could see Johnson having a really good year coming up. Like really good. Coach Gran and Hinshaw must stay.
How could a upcoming 4-5 star receiver not wanna roll with Kentucky? We play freshmen here. You dont gotta wait your turn. We gotta proven deep ball thrower and a o-line. Top 10 running backs too. Come on down to Lexington wide recievers!!!!

And here's a fact that will be quickly questioned by someone: after one (1) year under his belt, Stephen Johnson, Jr. has thrown more vertical "over the shoulder" deep passes than Tim Couch did in 3 seasons.

It is indeed pretty.

Also, Scott Charlton's Twitter is a must-follow. Dude is tireless with his UK-related clips and he uploads them so quickly it's absurd. Glad he's getting kudos here and elsewhere.

You can say he throws a tight spiral. his accuracy is off. He also does not posses a really strong arm. I'm sure Il get trolled by those who also actually think we should be a top 25 team right now. Pump the brakes. No matter who we bring in next year as a QB, and no matter how healthy Barker is....SJ will be our guy. He is not the fastest, he is not the best QB skill wise on our team.....BUT HE IS A WINNER! He has the respect of everybody on the team. The team plays hard for him, and that's All any of us can ask, or want in our leader.

We don't have to see much improvement to be an excellent QB. Gain 20 to 25 lbs. and get his throwing motion corrected on the short passes over the center, and to the flat. He has a lot of poise, and doesn't seem to get excited in the pocket.

OLD STOLL FIELD GUY!

I agree. It's really the things that you can't teach that he excels at. When he learns the parts that can be taught.....WATCH OUT!

Johnson puts a decent amount of air under his long passes and lets the receiver adjust his speed to catch it . I think that's what makes him a good deep thrower , he gets it close and allows the receiver time to dial it in .
