Great find. That was the season when the team had a revolt against Sparky after starting 0-5. Freshman Taneyhill stepped up as a leader and led us to 4 straight wins over ranked MSU and Tenn and a win in the finale at Clemson.

I was at the state fair with my wife and kids the day of that Miss State game; they were ranked no 15 at that time. You could hear the roar keep repeating from the stadium as the game went on and all us dads were straining to see the scoreboard as we walked around. Great day.

Here is another good one where he shows some the things he kept from his career including the jersey from the 1992 Carolina Clemson game.

Next season there should be a Taneyhill game day.

I'd like to see us wear "18" patches on the uniforms, but I guess you can't do that for every player who passes away.

He was rare, though. It's one of the only times in our history when a single player was responsible for injecting enthusiasm into the fan base. He single-handedly revived the '92 season.

Anyone else heard this story...........

So getting on the field at W-B isn't exactly easy. A pass has to be worn & shown or you'll be escorted away. Well Taneyhill, on a somewhat recent visit to a game, decided to walk onto the field & didn't have one of the passes. One of the dreaded yellow coat rent-a-cops stopped him & told him he couldn't be there because he didn't have a pass. Taneyhill, very calmly, pointed to the ramp that showed his name & records & said, "There's my field pass right there." He kept on walking & stayed on the field.

I agree they should wear 18 patches next year. or some connection to Taneyhill. Heck if you watched Dabo talk about Taneyhill, you got the feeling, Clemson may to, LOL. Dabo likes to tell the Gaines Adam story, but it was a huge miss by Holtz, Taneyhill handed a future top 5 first round pick at DE to the Gamecocks and was ignored. But I had never heard about when Taneyhill visted Alabama on a recruiting visit and Dabo's observations and thoughts as a player when he saw him.

A young Chris Fowler, and Corso, in the studio, before Herbstreit, done when Taneyhill was 4-0 as a starter.

Hysterical commentary at the end. The good ol days when long hair and an earring were forbidden. How far we've come.
