Can Ben just bench him already? He's killing us!

5card = idiot. Of course he agrees with the OP.Missed this doozey by @fivecardstud14.
Gotta get Stirtz back on the bench and get some transition points says the basketball wizard.
That damn Stirtz. He's almost as bad as Pryce Sandfort.
Or agreeing with it like 5card did.Imagine starting a thread like this
Poor guy always has me on his mind ever since I called him out for not watching hoops yet commenting on it like you had a clue. Stick to the wrestling board there, Skeeter.Or agreeing with it like 5card did.
100% agreeI think the team continues to learn how to play together. BM suggested a few weeks ago that often a team with one great player becomes overly deferential. You saw that a lot earlier in the season with players forcing everything through Stirtz and foregoing their own good shots later in the shot clock or missing fast break opportunities. You still see it at times today, but with less frequency.
this thread has aged like a fine wine
Sorry your butt hurt that I called you out for liking such a stupid post. You're an idiot on every forum, and I forgot more about basketball than you've ever known.Poor guy always has me on his mind ever since I called him out for not watching hoops yet commenting on it like you had a clue. Good stuff, Skeeter. You're like 80% of this board. You're not a hoops fan, just an Iowa fan. You don't watch any basketball besides Iowa, and it shows every time you make a comment.Sorry your butt hurt that I called you out for liking such a stupid post. I would never, but it's fun to drag this out every time Stirtz rips. The farther he drags this team, the better it gets.Continue to educate.
But don't expect accountability from sports fans. Especially on an anonymous message board
Only if OP makes it even dumber, and someone can put it up in the locker room whiteboard for motivation.Wish the OP would change the title.
Ok 5carddud. Your posts make me think you only watch 8 and under aau.Good stuff, Skeeter. You're like 80% of this board. You're not a hoops fan, just an Iowa fan. You don't watch any basketball besides Iowa, and it shows every time you make a comment.
Oh man that’s a good one! Can’t wait to see what your keen eye spots during the game tonight. I’m sure it’ll be riveting.Ok 5carddud. Your posts make me think you only watch 8 and under aau.
It was no accident that the lead was cut when he and his defensive indifference were on the bench.
Offensively, he's super limited because he lacks aggression and doesn't like to be touched in any way shape or form. The Illinois players guarding him had the easiest assignment ever. He would rather defer to others to make things happen and puts them in horrible positions because he can't or won't ever try to turn the corner. He should live at the FT line but he doesn't because that would mean that he might need to initiate contact.
The only time he wanted to be the man was when he hoisted horrible off balance 3s at the end. HERO ball.
BMC is gonna have to sit him down when he's being passive. Not fouling at the end with the clock running out was idiotic. The team can win without him on the court whether he wants to believe it or not.
Honestly, if you look at that award & recognition as its supposed to be seen, who else has meant as much or more to his team this season??I'm actually starting to wonder how much Bennett gets considered for BigTen Player of the Year?
Too soon?

Exclude Stirtz from this Iowa squad, and the record is reversed - or more likely even worse.
The other teams in the B1G - ahead of Iowa in the standings - are loaded with offensive play makers. Stirtz is basically it for Iowa.
Aye Laddie! If being the overall best player on the team is "killing" said team, I hope Bennett keeps "killing" it!
This might be the HROT Post of the Year! Absolutely a classic “fan” meltdown after losing team effort. It was no accident that the lead was cut when he and his defensive indifference were on the bench.

He is certainly a frustrating player to watch right now. I do think BMac needs to sit him more throughout the game, especially when he is making some very poor decisions.
The team clearly showed they can put together good possessions with him on the bench. I had a feeling with how he played today that coming back into the game with around ~4 mins left might do them in.
The team needs him to get out of whatever funk he's in if they want to make noise come March.
Actually, what “the team” needs is to quit playing teams that are measurably better than them! Illinois, Michigan State, Wisconsin, probably Michigan would certainly be some of these teams (in conference). He is certainly a frustrating player to watch right now. Michigan State and Illinois have two of the better guard courts in America…Overall, almost 7 weeks after thee critiques were written, Stirtz has verified his credentials rather well. Or perhaps maybe the NBA really has no clue what it does. You're a tough grader.
What was the point of this reply? Thanks.Actually, what “the team” needs is to quit playing teams that are measurably better than them! Illinois, Michigan State, Wisconsin, probably Michigan would certainly be some of these teams (in conference).
