So I can’t find the thread anymore but somebody said he added Louisville back to his list then deleted the tweet… is that true. If so is that to disrespect UK after losing to Louisville. Kind of like another F u.

Bro, we don’t need Stokes. We will be fine.
If by "fine", you mean have a redundancy of the same player next year at the small forward spot - Williams/Collins/Hawthorne - I agree with you.

If Stokes is going to Oregon and Holt is Bama bound, it looks like our "fine" season will be peak Sweet Sixteen again. For some fans, that will be just "fine" in year three of the Pope era.

Saul, why do you say that though? I think this is just emotions

Collins is a project on offense and I’m all for it. Other than feelings, why do we keep going back to the “we need a stud”? Serious question
You don't think we need a go to guy when the chips are down? I think it's what missing on our team right now. If we had a guy like Brown on this roster to go with the solid but not great group IMO we would be the title favorite.

Because I see Pope backing himself into a corner next year by relying on upperclassmen like Lowe, Garrison, and Mo D the same way he did this year with Oweh and Garrison. All of those guys are really good players, but they are not the type of guys you have as your top options if a national title is your ultimate goal.

I think they can be good enough, Saul. Trust me, I’m not coping either. I’m being completely honest. The team that has all the *talent* isn’t the team cutting the nets down each year. I know you were on this site when I combed through every national champion in the last 40 years. We are rightfully upset as a fanbase but I think we need to: A.) trust the process with roster continuity, and B.) absolutely demand better defensive coaching from Pope and his staff even if it makes firing Fox or AB3

It might be a little too soon to think that way. I think Williams will be able to play either the three or four and Chandler can absolutely feel the shooting guard roll. Hawthorne can play the three or four as well. He just needs some meat on him so I do think there's some flexibility there..

But why did he have the 20, good sir?
Because he’s a stud and nobody on our entire team came close to stopping him. Or in other words our defense?

We looked amazing defense against the white boys of Purdue. Get some studs lol and we can’t defend.

Brown went off. There’s nothing to debate there. He got national recognition for his play.

2012 national championship - future NBA All-Star Anthony Davis, plus three other future 1st round picks.

1998 national championship - future NBA All-Star Jamaal Magloire, plus three other future 1st round picks.

1996 national championship - future NBA All-Star Antoine Walker, plus five other future 1st round picks.

Some of you think that a team without real first round picks can win it all. So if we miss on Stokes and Holt - who are both going to be future 1st round picks - do you actually believe that we can win a title in 2027 with another round of Mo D and Lowe as our primary pick ups?

You've got to get guys like Holt or Stokes to make it happen. Thinking anything less is naivety.

Should we have been able to win the game with 88 points? Was the issue that we didn’t have a stud, or does our defensive scheme suck? You should win every game with 88 points.

He did play very well against us and was almost impossible to stop, but we really got killed by the combination of both their guards to put up 50 some points. But even with that the turnovers is what killed us.
We couldn’t guard anyone in the PnR. That’s on coach. Brown is a special talent and I’ll never downplay that, but it wasn’t like he was going 1 on 1 and scoring in iso. He went iso successfully against Lowe late in the game but I could probably score on Lowe myself (not really). We have things to clean up.

You guys must be young. I used to live and die with recruiting crap a long time ago. It’s just silly now. No one but young fans give a crap about about what some 17 year old does. Just stop.

Most of them turn out to either be over hyped, or they change their minds and switch teams “after committing”. Stop with this. The instant transfer nonsense makes high school commits irrelevant.

Well I believe if we had Wilson or somebody else like that on the team we would have stopped them from scoring more than 88. I’ll take a defensive Stud. Any player that can take over a game. Idc which end it’s on. We currently don’t have that.
