Stokes signs with Nike

Love to see a class of Stokes, Rippey and Holt/Howard in magical Christmas land. (I really like Collins game also but I think we don't land him if we land Stokes). But mostly just want to see Coach Pope keep knocking down those "Pope's Never Done This" walls.

If Pope can get a couple of these top ten guys, have a good run, final four or at least elite eight, then I think this year may be the beginning of a Dynasty.

Recruiting will become much easier to aquire. He will be proven in the eyes of players. He loves UK and wants the same things we want as fans. This is the NY Knicks or the Boston Celtics or the Lakers for Pope. This is his dream job.

I told my Dad last year Pope is about to go on a magical run. It’s only right. The story is too good. It’s only right that the leader of the 96 national title team comes back to coach Kentucky to four or five national titles. Maybe more like Saban did Bama. I was born in 96 so why not …

It’s wild because the moment we hired him if I’m being honest I was highly disappointed.. He’s done way more to prove he belongs and made me do a 180 on the way I feel about the hire. Pope has me more excited about KENTUCKY basketball than I have in awhile. It’s like the feeling when I was younger. Like the passion for UK is back.

Corny post maybe but I truly believe Pope is gonna end up a legend here at UK. Hope he wins some championships and becomes the highest paid coach in basketball. We’re supposed to be number one in everything. Just don’t do them life time contracts Mitchyboy.

Have my doubts on UK Landing Rippey. He's going to want to run the show and with low possibly coming back I think he'll go elsewhere where he knows he can play from day one. We'll see how the temperature reading is after he leaves tomorrow

I don’t expect Lowe back but if he does return I would rather have a Senior Lowe than Freshman Rippey. Of course both would be nice also.

I would think so, they would make it work for Stokes, but they have gotten 4 commits in the past 8 days in the freshman class. Thats a lot of spots taken for NIL. I don’t know their roster status, but you would think they want some spots for the portal as well.

Don’t see how it doesn’t but they know more than me. Was he not Popes top priority? Wasn’t he here last BBM with Acaden Lewis?

Holt plays the 2 and primarily Stokes is at the 3. It doesn't conflict as bad as Collins and Thompson who would be direct competition at the 3 against Stokes. The only way it might hurt is if they either don't want to play together, we don't have the NIL for both, or each one wants to be the "dude" on the team they are on and don't want to share the spotlight. Holt and his camp have been quoted saying both positive and negative things about wanting to be the man and/or willing to share the spotlight so you never know. It would be an incredible get, and the unofficial to BBM is a great sign, but I still think we get Howard instead of Holt at the end of the day.

I was always team Pope because of how great his offense looked and I figured with the right staff and support he would field elite teams capable to elevate his coaching as well. Jimmies and Joes have always determined success for the most part. He has done even more than I thought he would so far.
