Stoops and his staff. Are they lame ducks at this point?

i have little doubt that we lose a lot of our recruiting class and wouldn't be surprised at some transfers. I don't have any faith in the staff as a whole. I'm sure the players/recruits don't either.

I think Stoops is a lame duck. Would expect a number of decommits now. More if we lose to UL. Curious to see if Jackson, Kash, etc, who have signed papers, stick with Stoops or investigate backing out.

I'm having very real doubts that we will ever have a good football program at this school.

We've definitely sunk back to the same level we were at in Joker's last years. With Stoops locked in for a minimum of two more years due to his ridiculous contract I'd say we'll be really bad and far and away the bottom feeder of the SEC for 3-5 more years. Sad. Very sad.

You have to decide if an occasional 7 game winning season and a Bowl game somewhere in Teneesee is worth all the time spent following it. For the first time in my life, I am questioning the amount of time I give it -given the best case scenario is a lower teir bowl game.

Would I be correct that all posts in this thread are by those who believe "we shudda hired Petrino"?

Again, your anger should be at the guy who hired Stoops - and triggered a premature extension that made Pitino look like a pr0n star.

If they did back out, and they won't, they would lose all respect. A commitment is just that, you sign on to try and make a difference not be a wussy and run like a chicken in a storm !

I think you are right about losing some players, both commitments and current players.I think Stoops will be here next year but he is effectively done as a coach.

Don't give up just yet.
I'm as frustrated as anyone. Because I know we have good players and it's disappointing to see the entire team not playing to potential.
And giving away a game that they should have won by at least 14 points.
Just keep in mind. They're good. But young players. These coaches are first time coaches. And there's still a chance at a post season game at a toilette bowl

Not with his head scratching contract extension, that is IU Crean-like.

Someone posted the numbers earlier...lots of cash if we can him.

It's a shame that my parking spot is now more important than my seats. I have a -great- reserved parking spot and if I were to vacate my season seats for the next two years I'd still pay for the space to keep from losing it. It's the only thing about the UK football experience that's improved over time.

I believe that these players under almost -any- other coaching staff would be almost unbeatable. It's not the size of the bus, but who's driving it.

Oh, he may be here Brian, because of the costly buyout, but I don't see how he can be anything more than a lame duck. It's gonna suck to have HCIWTBF. Joker being HCIW was a bad idea. This could be a disaster that costs us a decade.

There will come a time, pretty soon, when Mitch won't have an option. That day is when the boosters demand change. It would is too expensive now, thanks to Mitch.

Get him to resign, that'll save UK a ton of money.
You could never get me to resign if I didn't want to. I think you already said Stoops is stubborn, but you think you can get him to just resign. Smh. You may be able to negotiate a buyout that is in everyone's best interest though.

For the record, I hope something miraculous happens and we are an 8-4 team next year and Stoops is successful here for years to come. I like him, I just want to win.

How did we get Tubby to leave?

It doesn't matter if Stoops is here or not. If we aren't going to get serious about hiring a major head coach, it will be the same results under a different name. I hate to say it, but we might as well get behind Stoops and hope for the best. Who knows, maybe next year...

I was at the game yesterday & there were some things you can see live that you can't see on TV. It seems like it is a disorganized mess right now. I noticed several times that players didn't know who was supposed to be in or out of the game, offense & defense didn't what play/defense to be in, late getting set up on offense & defense. Freddie Maggard had a really harsh article on KSR today that sums it up well.

I think Brumbaugh has to be on the hot seat.

How about some reality. If Stoops is fired he gets 18 million. Plus you have to hire a new coach for how much.

Pure insanity for anyone thinks this is going to happen.

Tubby won a title, he basically earned half of that in his first year.

Can't answer my question?
I swear you're intentionally obtuse. Yes, fan/booster pressure eventually got Tubby to resign. No need for a rhetorical question. As others have already told you, it s a stupid plan. Yes it would eventually succeed, but not without great cost. Since you like questions, can you explain to the class what those costs would be?

Been that way every game. The only reason we were 4-0 at one point is the level of talent we played. SC & MIZZOU weren't what we thought they were and ULL, as bad as they are, just about came back to beat us and EKU should have won; completely outplayed us for 3.5 quarters.
