Bring back Bill Curry. He couldn't score either. Hold them under 70 guys. Laughing stock of the SEC.

Worst contract ever. That contract midway through his second year is why Barnhart should be fired.
What's so bad about it is that we were in a position of leverage and there was no need for it. The contract was way above market value and the entire rational for it was to "lock him in" which we didn't even do. Stoops can leave with no penalty. This contract maybe the most incompetent thing I've ever seen an AD do except passing on Calipari for Billy G. And Mitch did both of those.

There is no lump sum buyout until December 1, 2017. If he is fired before then they just have to pay the contract as if he were still employed at UK.

UK cannot deduct his salary at his next job from the amount they pay him. Negotiating any kind of buyout apart from the contract is a non starter unless he gets caught up in rule breaking or moral turpitude.

Fact is with the decline of the coal industry we no longer have twelve million to piss away.

I would certainly like to be Joe Craft ... I would be sitting in MB's office tomorrow morning and I would tell him when this season is over with I'll buy Mark Stoops contract and if you don't let me do it I will not give another penny for this University Athletics... Crap has got to be over something has to be done

Absolutely brutal. This is an unmitigated disaster. I don't know that anyone has ever been destroyed in a negotiation as badly as Stoops's agent got Barnhart.

You obviously don't know what's gone on in the coal industry.

I repeat you obviously don't have a clue as to what'd gone in the coal industry . Quit thinking you can rely on coal . It's dead and ain't coming back. Breaks my heart . But big coal money is a thing if the past.

Many coal Barron's are worth about ten percent of what they we just four years ago. Say you were worth a billion . Now it's one hundred million. Quite a bit but your faith in your invincibility financially has been shaken . And you're not going to spend twelve million to buy out a football coach .

Hell you don't wait that long. You tell Mitch this as he boards your (Craft) private plane back to Lexington tonight.

CMS has an incredible agent, negotiated circles around MB with those terms. How can you possibly convince any rational person CMS is worth that contract?

Honest question, because I really don't know, who are the UK boosters that would get behind and write that kind of check? I saw Joe Craft, does he care enough about football? Who else?

$200k for winning the national championship? I would have put in the contract he gets eleventy trillion dollars for winning the NC. Safest incentive payout EVER.

Negotiate that # down. Tell stoops to take half or you'll keep as coach another year. He looked like he wanted out in 2nd quarter. I bet he takes it in a heartbeat.... could probably buy him out for 4 mill.

Barnhart should've been fired years ago. Olympic sports don't pay the bills.
Barnie doesn't have to worry about paying the bills. He gets $30+ million YEARLY just for being an SEC school. That's the whole point. Plus, his boss loves him because of his amazing financial performance. Which he has zero responsibility for achieving. It's like a Catch-22, in reverse. Amazing.
