Stoops Extension?

We've all discussed the idea that UK can't afford to dismiss Stoops right now. I think he can turn it around with a good hire for OC. Obviously recruiting is one of his strengths, so my question is:

When is the date for either extending Stoops's contract or letting him go? At some point Mitch has to decide to take an action other than "wait and see". An unknown future for coach Stoops will hurt recruiting which is the brightest part of the program right now. We can't lose the recruiting momentum, we're very relevant in that area.

How many years matter to a recruit (or does it even matter)? Are recruits more concerned with their coordinators? I wonder if schools have ever added option years onto a coach's contract.

If we only have 20.000 to 30,000 fans in the seats for the last 2 or 3 games, it will not matter what the buyout is, Coach Stoops will be gone. I don't think that will be the case. I truly believe we will go to a bowl game next year, but only if Coach Stoops let's the OC do his job.
Let him decide what kind of offense he wants to run, hire the OC, and let him run the offense and Coach Stoops manage the game. Several time this year, his management looked like a "Chinese Fire Drill."
