What about Brumbaugh? Would have to think the way our D-Line has performed this season that he could be one. Hard to believe Dawson would be gone after 1 season.

Rumor floating that Dawson, Maniord and Elliot maybe gone.

I don't see Elliot being asked to leave, especially since he has brought in several top recruits I believe. I think Elliot goes down with the ship, if it were to sink. However, I'm still not sure that's going to happen just yet

Wonder if Stoops will open up to Jones tomorrow. I sure hope he does. I know folks are getting upset with what many call "coach speak" coming out of his mouth. I am behind Stoops 100% as long as he is coach here, I just would like to know where we are headed.

I HIGHLY doubt Stoops will publicly make any comments on the show, even if he's already told those it affects. Usually, the university's people release that information first and then Stoops will talk about it

Now that a few wks have past since the UL game, I think Stoops will have a little less fire thrown his way on the show.

I can't see Stoops airing any firings on the air. You would have to think that the announcements would come before and then he'd come on to talk about the direction of the program.

Exactly what I was about to post.

Don't think Elliot or Dawson are going anywhere unless by their own choice. Elliot is too close to Stoops and Dawson is too early and Stoops defended him pretty strong.

If there are 3 changes coming my guess is they may not be 3 new faces. But maybe a couple of reassignments and a new special teams coach, or 1 reassignment, 1 replacement, and 1 new special teams coach.

Pretty much agree with this. If changes do come I think it's Mainord and Buh leaving, not convinced Ansley's here to stay because a lot of staffs need to be filled throughout college football.

Anyone else think that the fact that Dawson is coordinating this offense while the rest of the offensive staff were Neal Brown hires might be a cause of some issues we've seen on the field?

I know that the offense is supposedly the same, but I've always wondered whether those 4 are on the same page in terms of how to coach, teach and scheme that offense and especially during games.

I wish he wasn't talking yet. Unless it's to announce he's making no changes. I'm in no hurry to hear anything. Wait a little longer. Fire who you need. Heir their replacements. And then talk about it. Guarantee whatever he says tomorrow will be purposely misinterpreted on this board, so I'd rather wait to have actions behind words.

Great timing if we are firing some coaches, most every other college has been at work for 2+ weeks filling out their staffs. And now we are going to get to work on it going into christmas, and won't have coaches in place until mid January. Very comforting for the 2016 recruiting class!!!!

Shoulda did it Sunday morning after UL if he is actually gonna fire some folks. can't imagine why it would take 2 1/2 weeks of analysis to determine changes needed to be made. But again, managing the clock ain't our head man's strongest atribute.

ZERO pass rush. We couldn't even make the opposing QB hurry his throws. On top of that, the read option destroyed our DE's.

Melvin and CJ had great years, but they couldn't even get to the QB enough because we ran very few stunts or twists. The lack of penetration by our D-Line was a big reason we gave up so many points against SEC offenses and UofL.

Can Brumbaugh improve the D-Line without CJ and Melvin?

Maybe he wanted to get the replacements in place prior to letting anyone go

Or make the changes during the recruiting dead period so:
1. You don't get behind in recruiting with fewer assistants
2. You don't have your competition trying to steal recruits while you're searching for their position coach
3. You don't have you split your time up between recruiting and a coaching search

We will likely go after a coach that's employed and not one that got fired for sucking so it doesn't matter all that much when we come calling. You must have no idea how many assistants there are out there if you think a few schools starting their search before us is going to hurt our chances of getting good assistants

True, consider too that the coach's convention is coming soon. This is a 2-3 day meat parade event for coaches...some of whom may be looking for work. Would give UK a chance to gauge interest but would give any coach who UK may have terminated the opportunity to find a position .

Wonder if he'll ask the fans if they can do a job better again? Maybe he just wants to rip MJ a new one due to his comments the past couple weeks. Looking forward to the interview/shouting match and expect it to raise more questions than answers. UK Football, everyone!!!!!

Stoops will probably say that he is still angry and that the season was unacceptable, but he, the staff, and the players will have to work harder and give 110%

I don't think Ainsley is dumb.

I think his resume is going to look a lot better after next year when he has all that talent with a lot more experience from the opening snap.

And if he leaves now he is a big liar, from what he is telling our commits.

Good job screwduke, I just came across the article. LHL scooped Jones on this one and those waiting for Stoops to drop the hammer will have to chill for awhile longer.

Certainly didn't mean to imply Ansley would lie but these things can be worded to leave a person squirm room. I'll feel better when UGA fills there DB position.

Well I think we can all relate to being "frustrated" and "pissed off" and I guarantee you he's not as "frustrated" and "pissed off" as the fans that have been backing this program for far too long.
Anyone know if Mitch is "frustrated" and "pissed off" yet?

I think the fact that Stoops is "noncommittal" means there will be staff changes. He could easily say no. And he hasn't ever just said no.

My guess is he's waiting.

So now we're bitching about who's more "frustrated" and "pissed off?"

We have to make sure the right people are "frustrated" and "pissed off" to acceptable levels or we'll be in the same boat for the foreseeable future. Nawmeen?

So what do you want to hear him say exactly? You're going to get coach speak no matter what. No coach in America would come out publicly stating he is going to fire people before it happens. He won't call out any of his assistants personally, he's not going to tell you who he has in mind for any possible replacements. (Stupid state law about job postings will delay any official announcements anyway). He's not going to call out players or tell you what went on in the locker room behind closed doors.

What you will hear are things like "we are evaluating things from the top down" or "we will make adjustments as necessary to put people and coaches in the best positions to help us win" or "we told players to buckle up, it's going to be a tough off season." The same mantra he preached after the UofL game. He will speak in generality and not specifics for the most part, despite what Matt tries to dig out of him.

I agree with this. No matter what he says, he'll get slaughtered for it by the bevy of D1 coaches residing here.
