Great defense that can't seem to figure out Tennessee's offense.

Need to get that crap fixed, sick of losing to those mustard chuckers.

I Agree.. last two games against the Vawls we have allowed 89 points, it could have been more considering last Years game in Knoxville

It’s a style of play thing. The cover 3 sit back in zone thing is hard to do vs them. Especially since our pass rush is avg. gotta win one on one battles in the secondary and we haven’t been good enough to do it

If Joe Milton is Tennessee's QB, I think we have a chance to win. He can throw the ball to Mars, but doesn't have a lot of good instincts. For example, in the mustard throwing game vs. Ole Miss. He came in for an injured Hooker. Tennessee has 3 seconds to win the game and instead of throwing it, he runs out of bounds.

Here's the clip:

Tennessee gives problems to more than us. That said....they successfully attacked a different secondary guy in each of the two years and the UK defender failed.

Two years ago they knew dort wouldn't come up to tackle or take on blockers/play responsibility turning wrs in after the catch. They were right and he gave up tons of offense. We finally subbed him out and started slowing them down.

Last year they attacked valentine betting he would jump routes going for picks. Right again. More than once valentine was supposed to flip on the switch route, but drove hard on the post leaving his deep route wide open. What's worse that was absolutely UTs go to play all year and especially the prior week vs bama.

Vs UT it isn't a time for heroes. Line up, play assignments and we will be ok. As stated hooker excelled at quick reads and accurate throws. Milton excels at neither.

Folks may forget that Hooker carved us up in the Belk/Mayo Bowl, dropping 30 on our Top 3 SEC defense, a feat only Georgia had accomplished.

Absent LBJ's magical abilities to parse defenses with his feet, and throw the two best passes of his college career in the waning moments, Hooker had us beat.

I remember his freakish accuracy in that Bowl. And he looked as good or better in Orange.

Milton might improve, but he has excelled at throwing the ball 5 yards over receiver's heads, in limited action.

Milton looked pretty good in that Orange Bowl / MVP Performance against Clemson.

I wonder if he’s accurate throwing the ⚾️..... 109, unofficially, on the radar 😯

I remember being super impressed with him that game and then in 2021 being confused when he wasn't named the starter for UT prior to the season. Once he took the reigns he was super efficient at UT. You have to think it'll be hard for most QBs to match what he did in Heupel's system, but who knows.

IDK!

Chummly’s offense put up huge numbers at UCF also.

Like Lincoln Riley, I may be the system as much or more than the players

Yeah, it may be. If his system is just going to be that good, we can only hope Venables flames out at Oklahoma and he goes there. I don't know if I can stand a consistent Top 10 UT program.

Hopefully White and Stoops can scheme up something this year to at least slow them down.

I think it's a bit of both. We will know a lot more based on how this upcoming season goes. It'd be a shame if UT peaked last year and fell off. A real shame.
