Like it or not, that is what happened. When Doty came in, we had amassed 9 first downs (1 on ST), 197 yards, and 0 points. I know that doesn’t fit your narrative, but that is what it is. Hopefully next year will be better.

It exactly "fits my narrative". They played backups the entire 4th quarter against TCU, just like they did us. TCU didn't end up with 197 yards for the entire game.

Nah, it doesn’t. We played piss poor football that day. We had all of our playmakers available that day. We did not score against their first group and struggled to move the ball.

They did score and were missing a 1,400 yard rusher. Makes a huge difference.

I know your underlying point is to say that Riley is no better than Satterfield, and you are using the stats from this game to try to prove your point.

If lincolin Riley couldnt score more than a one touchdown against Georgia then what are they gonna do in the long run against any desent team? I say it ends after about one year

Just think of it if we hired him. We'd simply point out the large step up in talent that would be at his disposal, and how his stats looked when fielding similar talent to his opponents.

An important difference, TCU is, supposedly, the 2nd best team in the entire country.

For me, as a Clemson fan, I am just as excited about Dabo bringing in "fresh blood" and someone from outside of the program as I am about the "name" he hired. The offense has become very stagnant and painful to watch at times, whether it be a QB or OC issue.

Many Clemson fans were a little uneasy about both coordinators being promoted from within last year and we saw some of the reasons we were uneasy come to life not only in the 3 losses but in some of the wins as well (Syracuse). I think change had to be made somewhere, and I'm glad we brought in someone from the outside after many years of the same eyes on the offense.
I think it was far more to do with Dabo (himself) missing on players and less to do with who calls the plays. We all know he has his hands all over play calls, game plans , etc. He wanted and missed on DJ. He is the one who passed on B. Bowers deeming him too small (LMAO). I do respect that he cut bait in order to change directions for the betterment of his program...BUT don't respect that there was a fall guy.
On the upside for you....and what sucks for me personally....is that GR is an Air/Power Raid guy. The passing game /TE coach is the same. CU will have explosive numbers this year without question. You play in a semi-b#tch conference (sorry...not trying to start anything - but compared to what SC has to deal with week in and out that's what it looks like) and you will get back to conference domination pretty quickly. Finally FSU has awoke and has it together again. But,nobody likes dealing with UT's offense the last two years, OU for the last 23 years, etc, etc so CU will be fine offensively.

Dabo hired Sonny Dykes??? Wow.....didn't know that.
Dykes isn't a great offensive mind....anymore than GR is. Same system. Dykes just proved he couldn't do great with it in the no defense Pac 12. B12 is down too...so great timing for him. He and all the other AR/PR guys will always put up offensive numbers most years.

Compared to what killer schedule that UofSC plays week in and out??? 2022...Georgia State, Arkansas, Georgia*, Charlotte, SC State, Kentucky, Texas A&M, Missouri, Vanderbilt, Florida, Tennessee (who just came back into relevance and a bad Clemson team! Talk about a semi-b##tch schedule.

Guess I am just not nearly as enamored or impressed with GRs three year stint as an OC at SMU or TCU, especially when at TCU he was running the same offense that the HC has run successfully many years longer. And Dykes was very successful as a Co-OC or OC at both Texas Tech (with Holgerson) and at Arizona.
