i thought the student turnout was pretty good last night. The east end was pretty full and the west end had a good crowd although there seemed to be some adults mixed in there. Possibly they were university employees. But all in all it was a good turnout, when you consider Georgia Tech is one of the least basketball schools in the ACC. I wonder what the crowd might be if we ever get to the point of playing a Syracuse, Virginia, or Louisville.

Apparently she is a senior? Perhaps a lead on a great job in Hawaii or grad program in Europe...
You guys realize you're turning into those old, geezer NU fans who tell people to sit down and stop cheering. Why would we want to silence a loud, enthusiastic NU fan? If you don't like her screaming, then make more noise so she's not so isolated.
I keep waiting for you to come and pick me up in your private jet!
I do wish I could get back to Evanston more. I haven't lived anywhere near the midwest in nearly 20 years. The couple times I've been back have been out of season, sadly.

I watched the game on TV last night and found myself mentally trying to track a pattern with her screaming. More when the Cats were on D than on O. I guess she considers herself a distraction to the opposing team when they have the ball.
I get that you do not reside in the area and can not attend games.
For those of us who left our house at 7:20 to pick up a buddy, drive to Evanston, go to the game, drive home through a light snow storm, arrive home at 11:30, our likes and dislikes take priority. A basketball game is about a 3.5 to a 4 hour adventure. A football game is at least 5 hours. Those who can not or will not make these games have no basis to say crap on attendance or about the screamer. It is not witty and is annoying as hell creating anger or angst in the fans. Please tell us when we can blast this into your viewing enjoyment. You would either mute the sound or turn it down. We do not have that choice. So, like the screamer, you should be silent.
The Wilson Club was filled to capacity. Unfortunately, half found their way to their seats; the other half stayed in the club.

At the Illinois *football* game, I could hear it clearly all the way across the field despite a much larger crowd.

Pretty hard to tell with you. You never have anything good to say about the team...so I was just wondering.
I just do not think you or “The C” have any standing to make any comments because you do not attend any events as to what is proper fan cheering or conduct. People on the outside making suggestions are irrelevant to any discussion. I am at mid-court, south side. If I was closer, I would first make a complaint to the proper folks. I am encouraged by her enthusiasm and I have teenagers so noise is not the objection, but the sound of amplified fingers on a chalk board is not a pleasant one.
I’m not passing judgment - just trying to get a sense of if the sound is sufficient to keep fans away. If fans were kept away —I suspect our #1 Superfan might moderate...slightly.
Clearly, she’s acquainted with the board, so there’d be space (maybe for an attorney...?) to negotiate terms. Maybe she’d rest (or limit to FTs) from the under-8 to under-4 in the first half, and under-16 to under-12 in the second.
Is it mild annoyance, significant annoyance, possible deterrence, or actual deterrence?
If it slips into 3 or 4 for a significant number of fans, maybe there are solutions. I suspect it’s probably 2 for most.
Also, Teddy G would eat this up and ask for seconds and thirds.
It's incredibly annoying, in my opinion - but I don't wish anyone to intervene. I appreciate her attendance, her passion, her support of her fellow students, and her volume. Just not her chosen way to use her volume, because it's quite invasive of the overall experience. I wish she'd choose to change it. That's not the same as wanting someone else to intervene or for her to be forced to stop it.
I think the most likely scenario is that zero people ever will be kept away due to one “adorable” or “annoying” or “holy effing essss I want to stab myself in the eye” fan, but I also am saddened that a GREAT TURNOUT thread turned into a GREAT TURNOUT, but... thread.

More student fans yelling may drown her out. The best analogy is that her noise is like constantly listening to Foreigner at a really loud level.
