I forgot, any teams shifting classes for 2016 season? Or, any new rules to the success factor being implemented?

Starting to make/think about pre-pre-season picks. So far, only 6A, Prairie Ridge or Crete. Mount Carmel (7A/8A?) and Loyola in SEC West.

I do not believe NAZ has the SF assessed since they won 5A and 6A. 2 different classes. So probably 5/6A border. MC should be 7A with enrollment. I thought I understood SF and that Montini would be 7A. Apparently that is not the case and they are 6A.. I have no explanation. SHG is again 6A as far as I know.

With the addition of the LWN kids, LWE will be moving to 8a

I believe the success factor is having to make it to state consecutive years in same class before you get moved up. Could be wrong but that's how I read it.

Lincoln Way West be a 6A ? With new enrollment?

LWW will probably be right between 6-7A depending on the year.

Lincolnway West was the largest 5A playoff qualifier this past year at 1287 and the smallest 6A school at 1285 in the 2014 season. An enrollment projection from last August put West at 2275 for this coming school year. The would have made the Warriors the 6th largest team in 7A in last fall's playoff classification breakdown.

Don't think so.
All they are adding is Manhattan D114 which is a little over 500 students.
They will be around 1850.

Based on enrollments that came out.
LWE will be 8a
LWC Will be 7A
LWW will likely be 7A but could fall to 6a.

I thought it was based off previous year's enrollment? So wouldn't that keep LWW down for an additional year?

Because a school closed.

That doesn't answer my question. I'm fully aware a school closed but is there some school closing clause? Or a percentage enrollment increase or something? If not LWW will be placed based of the 2015-2016 school enrollment.

Exact clause? Hell I don't know but the IHSA adjusts the enrollment when something like this happens. Maybe one of the few intelligent things they do.

I'm being facetious with the school closing clause. LWN closing is irrelevant it's the uptick in enrollment for LWW that is in question. I asked a question because I don't know the answer, is there a rule in place that bumps schools automatically that experience an unusual increase in enrollment? If not LWW will be on the 5a/6a border again this season.

If a school enrollment changes by more than 20% they adjust. Only recent example with out a closing or opening is Thornridge a few years back when half the school withdrew when it was rumored they were to become a freshmen center.

Soucie tweeted today LWW and LWC are 7A.
LWW has cut their teeth annually in conference play against higher enrollment successful programs like Bradley-Bourbonnais, Thornton and LWN, so the elevation in playoff class should be handled. Having some 650 more students will not hurt either. West is a school whose athletic program is on the rise across the board. The sports that have not arrived to date appear to be on their way to doing so. The demographics and facilities are moving the needle forward.
