Schaefer has a good article on his Super 6. I found it pretty interesting:

1. Fidone
2. Kpai
3. Gbayor
4. Lutovsky
5. Buford
6. Hardy

Sleeper: Haarberg

Article is easy to find and good analysis.

I always love the Super Six picks. I’ll give mine (complete guesses of course):

Fidone: Obvious pick, he’ll get on the field and get touches from day one. I am intrigued by Schaffer’s comments on him playing in the slot, like Pitts, Kelse, etc.

Lutovsky: We need interior OL and he is a beat. Athletic and 330 lb. He seems super under rated, an analysts on TOS said he was the best Husker OL prospect he saw in person in the past decade.

Gbayor: NJ POY. I would be shocked if he wasn’t a multi-year starter at ILB.

Weaver: Just watching the highlights, he looks huge and explosive playing against good competition.

Kpai: Sounds like they want him to play JoJo’s spot. Not a lot of competition for him there (Wright and ?). He could get on the field early in his career.

Bretz: Great athlete could play Safety, nickel or OLB. I expect him to play early and often.

Sleeper: Seth Malcomb

I also strongly considered Hardy and Ervin as there should be plenty of opportunity to get PT at RB and WR. I also considered Haarberg, as QB depth could let him get PT early.

Schaefer is always a great segment in the morning show.

DB is very high on Bretz. Listened to a recent interview with Bretz and was very impressed with him.

Do we think Bretz stays at safety or is he eventually a LB?
DB insists he is a "Sunday talent" if he can embrace the grind. I'm not sure what kind of frame he has, in terms of packing on pounds, but would appear to have ideal size for a Safety. I don't know if we can grow a lot of S to LB in the B1G though.

Then again, I remember Mike Minter playing LB in a few games, so what do I know! Lol

It depends on your definition of LB size. NU used to play some guys at that WILL and Rover spot who were more in the 215-230 range than the 235-250 range. Farley, McFarland, Minter, Veland, Dumas. Dudes who could come down and play the run but still play fast.

Surprised by Lutovsky since Iowa didn't even offer him and they usually have a good eye for OL

Might the 6'6 Lutovsky be our center of the future?

Mark Traynowicz, Bill Lewis and Jake Young were all about 6'6'.

Myabe. I could see Piper moving to Center, when Luto forces his way onto the field.

I'd love to see a return to guys like that in the program. They were all dudes.

As Austin told the media recently "We've got 1000 guys"
they over recruited OL. Thats good for the program that so many OLs want to play at NEB but a bunch of them are going to be surprised when they figure out there are 4 years worth of OLs in the frosh/soph classes.
I'm not sure where or when Brant Banks will get to play. His redshirt senior year?
Jurgens technically still has 3 years to play. Piper 4 more years? Corcoran 4 more years. Benhart 3 more years?
there really is no room for any other OLs in the program until 2023. the only spot up for grabs in the next 3 years is Farniok's. But there are a dozen OLs waiting.

You need to give this a rest. Every team in American has 85 scholarships, there is competition every where. I would say OL is actually probably a place we have under recruited. 2 scholarships for 5 spots last year, 3 for 5 spots this year. Compare that to WR, RB, OLB and TE. We are not over recruiting the OL.
