Cam's great when it goes his way. Tonight I saw him go back to his rookie year as far as composure and maturity. OFC

Cam just punked out

Still a panthers fan and it sucks but Peyton deserved it big time love the guy! What did cam say post game I didn't watch? Also the job our OL did was the most pathetic thing I've ever seen

I our o-line was absolutely horrible tonight but gotta give credit to Denver's defense. As for the post game press conference, Cam answered a few questions then stood up and walked off. It wasn't a smart thing to do but I've always thought that players/teams shouldn't have to go to a press conference right after the game ends because they're obviously going to be upset and disappointed after losing a big game, so it makes them look like they're being sore losers or poor sports because they're not in the mood to answer questions

I'm happy for Peyton and my cousins who've lived their whole lives in Colorado. The Broncos definitely earned it.

Cam had an embarrassing night. I'm curious to see how that plays out over the course of his entire career with regard to public opinion. He pulled some bush league moves, but it would also be bush league to hold this against him his entire career. Jay Cutler gets treated with more grace.

I wouldn't say that about Jay Cutler. The whole city of Chicago has been calling for his head the last five years. Plus, he's the definition of a whiner and sulker. Cam is nowhere near his level when it comes to that....

That is exactly the first thing I thought of.

Nice job, DukeDenver!
dukiejay, my main point is that I think it's too soon and too harsh to start making forever after statements on how you feel about Cam Newton.

I find it easy to take no interest in Cam, the person. There are just way more interesting people in sports.

Last night just didn't seem like the tip of the iceberg for the guy. He's carried a reputation with him for a while....wrong or otherwise.

He was outstanding this past season and had one of the better year's we've seen from a quarterback. No doubt about it. He also played up to the limelight wearing Superman shirts and referencing himself as the show. In the biggest moment of his career that fumbled football was his Kryptonite and the MVP looked embarrassingly bad. His press conference was almost worse.

We all have weak moments. Every single one of us. Was last night Cam's? Maybe. Time will tell.

I was on the treadmill at the gym this morning and some talking head (they don't have the sound on, just the streaming words, so I don't know who) said coaches teach their quarterbacks not to fall on fumbles so they won't get hurt. Are you kidding me?

i was cheering the broncos, but in cams defense and there is a video surfacing, but as he was being interviewed, so a broncos defensive player (harris), who was having a rah, rah moment..explaining how they were taunting cam to throw the ball.......optics looked bad, sorta like how our own jahlil took a hit for "dropping" the jersey........cam could've handled his overall demeanor better, but hey, it coming off just losing the biggest game in sports history superbowl50

I'm sorry but you have to win with class and lose with class(see peyton manning)...no excuse for him punking out on the interview....and it may be a tough position to be in but big deal that's part of his job...that he is getting paid very very well for I might add

Cam is a front runner IMO...he is self named Superman when winning but bails on his teammates when losing(talking about standing watching ball HE fumbled laying there while he back away from the play)

I wouldn't necessarily jump on a ball in the regular season, but the Superbowl? That was just an odd moment. That lineman goofed that up badly too. Cam's biggest problem was the high throws. He just wasn't as accurate as he's been this season. He had a bad game. He should've owned it. Oh well, who really cares? It's just entertainment.

Now back to what really matters: DUKE!

I am a Panthers fan and have not missed a game on TV in several seasons but I very much dislike a showboat and any player who tells others how good he is or how no one has ever seen anything like him as Cam did.. Being humble is the way even if you are a great player because you will eventually make an *** out of yourself when you fail like he did yesterday. I hated to see the Panthers lose but I don't like sideline theatrics and think Cam is a poor sport.

If any of you really think Cam didn't jump on the fumble because he was soft, afraid, didn't wanna get hurt…just wondering if you've ever seen him play at all? You know he does flips over defensive lines into the end zone, right? You know he'll easily block for his teammates. He basically doubles as a running back and ain't afraid to do it. Oh yeah, remember last year when he was in a car wreck? Then he played in a playoff game. I don't think a guy like Thomas Davis would take to the field with a broken arm if he didn't think Cam Newton was willing to take some beatings (which he did a lot in this game).

I don't know why he didn't jump on the ball but it certainly isn't because he was afraid of getting hurt.

Let's not forget Peyton Manning's "sore loser" Super Bowl moment when he ran off the field without shaking a single Saints players hand after losing. To me that's even worse than walking away from a presser.

Proud of my boys and the season they had. They just didnt have it for the big game, but they gave us panther fans a great season. Broncos had an all time defense and deserve to be the champions!

Classless by cam for sure. To go up to the qb who beat you after the Super Bowl , congratulate him and shake his hand shows how awful he is. Lol who cares about post game stuff like that. He answered a few questions and left dear me, no class for sure.

I wonder if he ever socked a guy in the face outside a bar and drinking? Would we ever continue to pull for such an individual? Or maybe a coach who after a tough loss chooses to blow some kids off.

We are truly selective about how we view things

None of those aforementioned in your post go around touting to be Superman, either.

And obviously people are selective in how they view things. At the same time, I saw more people call Jahlil an idiot for what he did than defend him. Surprisingly, a good number, maybe not the majority, even said Coach K made a mistake.

We're all human. I get that. But Cam opened himself up for criticism too. Don't pretend this is on everyone else and not him. His biggest mistake on the night in my opinion was essentially quitting on his team when all he had to do was lay down on the ball. From that point on his antics got a little childish the rest of the evening.

His behavior is on him; our reaction is on us. His behavior was churlish. We can call him on that. If our criticism goes overboard, though... that starts raising suspicions about other, subconscious motives behind it.

I am a panthers fan. Period. Do I always like what Cam does? NO. Would I trade him ?NO. Do I think he is a wuss? NO. I don't know why he got up and left the press conference, nor do I agree with it. However, Cam is not the first person that I have ever seen not take a loss well. Lots of players and coaches don't always handle a loss well. Coach K comes as close to handling a loss with class as anyone I have ever seen. I don't agree with the way coach Cut handles a loss, at times , but, that doesn't change my opinion of him as a coach. All this being said, there is a next year, and Cam will still be the QB I will be pulling for. GO PANTHERS.....

To be clear, I don't view Cam as a saint, and have had my own issues with things he's done this year.

The fumble, I think was simply a case of being so rattled, he overthought it. He just froze, if you wanna say he choked that fits. The chaos of the moment got to him. But he should HAVE fallen on the ball. I still don't think any thing in game or after was immature or classless. Sure he should have answered questions. But it's no big.

Actually yesterday when he decided to talk, he DID say he didn't jump on the fumble for fear of injuring himself.

I travel around the Carolinas everyday for work, and it has been like a morgue here all week. No flags flying, no one wearing their new panther shirts with the creases still in them that they just bought two weeks ago. It's actually been quite peaceful. Thank you Denver Broncos.

And as Steven A Smith (whom I cannot stand) said. If you wanna be in the limelight all the time when your winning, you better be able to take the heat when you lose. I think Newton is a punk, but that's just my opinion.
