Chris Matthews having a heck of a Super Bowl. Too bad that sorry program he went to in college could not take advantage of anything he could do. Sorry motherf@ckers.

Sad to see such a great game end on the stupidest play call ever in a super bowl.

Look, I was very happy for the young man and having success on a big stage. Wasn't it his first NFL reception? He may have been used for the mismatch opportunities as well as somewhat being a surprise to the Patriots.

Blows me away that he was not playing football, actually selling shoes at a Foot Locker, when the Seahawks contacted him for a tryout.

Same here; it's a great story and lesson on perseverance and chasing your dreams. Really happy for the guy. I know it killed the UK fans that they would never mention that he played for UK. I would have been screaming at the TV myself if it was a UofL product coming out of nowhere for a great SB performance.

I was at a SB party with around 20 adults, most of which were UK fans. They had no idea who Chris Matthews was. I had to point that out to them, then made them feel worse by saying "if this were a basketball game, you'd know who the UK player was." They bowed their heads in shame.

I have heard it said that he was sucked into a pass play by a smarter coach setting his defence for a goal-line run.
