With the new discussions of G6 forming their own playoff the Power 2's move to a super league is inevitable. After the shakeout the new divisions FOR FOOTBALL ONLY will likely be:

Division 5 (Formerly D3)
Division 4 (Formerly D2)
Division 3 (Formerly FCS)
Division 2 (G6 Teams and those not picked up by the super league, ie Iowa State, Syracuse, Stanford, etc.)
Division 1 (50 or so teams primarily from B1G and SEC competing for 24 playoff spots)

Does this become a reality?

50 teams getting 24 playoff spots would be beyond ridiculous. At that point the regular season means absolutely nothing..

IL High Scool just expanded their football playoff eligibility....so this year our local FB team played an overmatched 2-7 team and of course it was a blowout. I would always roll my eyes when a .500 Debbie team would receive a bowl invite, but now every sport seems to be deluting post season tournaments more and more.....😎
