Here is the deal. Those claiming "privileged access" are usually screaming for attention, so when they are wrong (as they most often are because they are guessing) and one engages them, their next question is "how am I wrong" and then you are on the hook for a descent into stupidity. Yes, loyalty to the University is the barometer imo. I believe Joe would want it that way too. Coaches directly following legends or even successful coaches often suffer difficult situations, loyalties to to previous coaches, etc. It can be a tough road until enough time passes to remake things into a real fresh start. Hopefully we have reached that period at PSU.
I think it's fair to say that both O'Brien and Franklin were undermined during their respective tenures. I hope that that's over, or at least that it's no longer tolerated.
