Will the Senate confirm it? How many votes are needed? If it's 60 then maybe the Dems will just not vote the nominee in.

I believe the Democrats will filibuster. The only question is what does the GOP do in return? Do they invoke the Harry Reid nuclear option? That is the question.

I am not a Senate parliamentarian so I do not know if McConnell has any other options.

A lot of dems in red states are up for re-election. It will be interesting to say the least. Harry Reid against his own party's advice, invoked the reconciliation rule. If he isn't Approved by a 60 vote, he will be approved by reconciliation.

Harry Reid laid his own grave and now he needs to lie in it. He invoked the nuclear option. I don't know what McConnell is going to do but he was certain that the nominee would be approved. My guess is he will either go the nuclear option or some other route to get the nomination approved. I just don't know what that is.

I think he will get close to the 60 votes. Just don't know for sure.

Obama never moaned about his pick being blocked, because he, like all Dems, fully believed Hillary would win. But now reality is setting in and the Dems will be obstructionists and things will most certainly go....

There are 10 Dems up for reelection in states that Trump won by very healthy margins.

They will vote to nominate him or they will lose even more seats in 2 years.
