I would say Oak Lawn but losses to Richards & Lemont soured me on them. Leo is a nice surprise
IC? Really, we knew they were going to be really really good. They were good last year and played a ton of Jr and Soph.
They won 3 games.
Though they’ve been bad for years they barely beat 3 garbage teams & should have beat a 4th. They got curb stomped by 5 other schools. I’m happy they’re in the playoffs but the bar has been lowered
After winning Week 1, Lincoln was outscored 326-13 in Weeks 2 through 7. Anything bad that could happen did during that stretch.
Heading into Week 8, I would have estimated their chances of getting 3 wins at 1/100. After trying 4 QBs at different points of the season, the Railers started a Freshman the last two weeks and moved a previous QB to RB-WR. They won both weeks by a combined 69-12 score to qualify for the 4A playoffs.

Teams that surprised me for a different reason were Nazerth, St. Laurence, Prarie Ridge, and St. Francis
IC is doing pretty much exactly as I expected. Not to toot my own horn, but I correctly predicted before the season that Loyola would be the only team to beat them. I expected their win over Naz to be closer than it was, and I expected their wins over Ignatius and Joliet to be more lopsided than they were, but other than that, they haven't surprised me at all.

Marian Catholic has a long way to go
What’s hurt Marian is that years ago the areas that fed into Marian Catholic were for the most part pretty nice & the schools that served those areas also nice. Years ago many of those areas became garbage as did the schools so the people moved away so they’re not getting as much of a choice of students. Fun fact: For many years Marian Catholic address was 666 Ashland Avenue lol. The mark of the devil as an address for a Catholic school. Like someone last name Bright not being smart lol
