Who was the last football player from Surry County drafted into the NFL? I can't remember if Jeff Hayes of Elkin was drafted or was a free agent.

Jeff was a free agent signee by the Redskins. That was a big draft for punters.

Mike Chatham of Elkin tried of for Cleveland Browns.
James Brimm of MT Airy played for the Vikings on the scab team 1987. When NFL players were on strike.
