Time for a bump with a few stats (for what those are worth)
SWR comes into this game with a perfect 5-0 record. The teams they have beaten have a combined record of 4-19. All, I think, except Asheboro, were in 1A.
ER comes in 4-0. The teams they have beaten are 9-10 on the season. All these teams are 3A except for West Stanly.
One common opponent in Asheboro. SWR won 17-7.
ER beat Comets 49-7.
Friday should be fun...

Stratton is a good talent and a fine young man. Scott was an extremely talented QB. ER has had some above average talent at the position since Scott. Stratton is unique however
He lives in Silk Hope, went to Silk Hope School through 8th grade, and should be enrolled at J-M.

Well I was a little ambitious with the 35-0 score. Southwest has actually controlled the clock and moved the ball pretty well. That being said Eastern has scored on every possession. Just hasn't been fast paced enough game to run it up.

Man.......where to start...........

I know........ Elias Alston's awesome catch off the long bomb from Barwick. I did not think he was going to get to that ball. He stretched out like Mr. Fantastic.

Barwick was magnificent last night. Elias Alston did a great job in helping Barwick look magnificent. Alston looked like an All-State performer. He actually had two scores called back (one of which was an electrifying punt return down the left sideline). Lilly did his usual thing on the ground with three touchdowns. He had a beautiful TD run up the middle towards the end of the first half.

All in all a much, much better performance from ER than last week. Way less yellow hankies.

Great, great crowd last night. I don't think I've ever seen that many people at an ER-SWR game. Looked like the state playoffs. I almost couldn't get out of the parking lot.

As for the Cougars.....

I know I love taking jabs at them but, after last night, I respect them a lot more. Coach Bax has them going in the right direction. That was the most physically imposing SWR bunch I've seen in recent memory. And they played hard and physical.

Their QB, Keaton Reed, is a player. I loved watching that kid. I also thought Clay Sugg had a good game. He had a couple of bone-crunching hits. About two weeks ago, my thoughts were that Providence Grove would be a shoo-in for second place in conference. After seeing SWR, I'm not so sure about that now.
