Swain Program slipping

Ditto that sentiment. And Cherokee shouldn’t forget that Swain gifted them a piece of the SMC championship which allowed them a #1 seed in the playoffs. I mean Cherokee whacked Swain then Murphy whacked them. Only for Swain to do what was seen as the impossible.
Well maybe discrediting the program is being a bit premature. They went from being blown out by y’all to beating a seemingly unbeatable Murphy team last year. Here we are again this year where they have been blown out and yet we believe they have become a cupcake. Until we put a W against them I’ll hold off writing them off.

Actually it did help. Cherokee would have had to travel to thomas jefferson in 3rd round. And was borderline not getting a bye in 1st round if they wouldn't have tied for 1st.

Im not close to the Swain program, but one thing I have noticed the last couple years is that the Maroon Devils haven't had a QB to run the veer like they usually do. Im sure there are other factors in play, but I have noticed that...
those who play smky mountain this year be aware they'll put 60 on you real quick lol.
Not yet they haven't........But still impressive start for SM.....Im gonna wait and see what the scoreboard says when they play Cherokee Franklin or Pisgah...If they need new bulbs in the scoreboard after those 3 games then we ll know they have a bulb blowing offense....

I think your right. After watching SM I believe they are for real. I had Swain picked to win last Friday but SM just continues to get better. We will see after they play Pisgah, Franklin, etc
We scrimmaged Pisgah and played Tuscola. The only way Smoky wins over Pisgah, Tuscola or Franklin is if they stay healthy. If they do then I won’t be surprised. They are one injury away from dropping off. Perhaps that’s why they never pulled out the starters vs Swain and was throwing td passes on fourth and goal with two min remaining in the game.
I agree. Franklin looked bad against Murphy. If Murphy met Franklin later in the season the score would be even worse than last week
SM was up 40 to 0 with 7 minutes in 4th and still had starters in against Andrews. I guess since it was the first game they felt like they needed the reps
Franklin is down a bit this year no doubt but Murphys defense when healthy would make a lot of teams look bad
Got to get the passing game going, the only real weakness on the team. Was good to see Annie Kate Dalton go 5/5 on extra points. Dogs may have there point after kicker for the next 3 years. Murray is decent on kickoffs when his ankle is right.
Taking absolutely nothing away from Murphy but Franklin was a flat out awful team..One of the worst teams they have had imo.
Maybe the worst team of the Brooks era. Definitely not one of there worst overall teams, they would still beat most of those terrible Franklin teams in the 80's and 90's.
Franklin did beat Asheville lets not forget that. I think they will still go 6-5 or 7-4 this year, great coaching staff and Brooks will get em coached up.
Once the Qb settles in he will be fine. I believe he needs to start out with the shorter routes till he builds his confidence being a first year starter. Once everyone gets healthy it will fall into place
Asheville has no line but they still have plenty of athletes. I'm surprised they lost to Franklin, especially after they beat Webb from Knoxville by 25. Webb isnt great but they are still better than all the lower tier mountain teams.
After watching Murphy- Franklin last Friday that’s exactly what I was thinking. Murphy’s defense is stout so how did Franklin score 37 points against Asheville ?
I don't think so. Even in a down year I doubt Franklin loses to any other SMC team besides Robbinsville this year. You really think Franklin loses to a Swain team that lost to Smoky by 50? Or a Cherokee team that lost to North Buncombe? No offense to Swain or Cherokee but I don't see it.
