I actually had Oregon going to the Elite 8 in my bracket, haha.
Oregon is a good defensive team but zone is so dangerous against good 3PT shooters, I think they’ll find all the holes. If i had to pin-point a weakness in Virginia’s defense, I’d say they struggle against good athletes. If Virginia is cold, it could swing in Oregon’s favor but I just don’t see it.
Purdue is a really good team. They’re not rolling over for anybody. And when you have someone like Edwards anything is possible.
Purdue reminds me of us when Zion was out. Edwards / RJ both volume scorers. Unless someone else miraculously steps up, they live and die on their efficiency. Edward’s was mediocre tonight besides success getting to the charity stripe. Kline played his best game of the season, luckily. Edwards is a nightmare for defenses when he gets hot, but he’ll also ruthlessly shoot 12-15 3’s and build a tower of bricks. Heck I think he averages 10 or 11 3PA per-game which is nuts.
Purdue has narcolepsy episodes defending the perimeter too, Virginia will swallow them if that narrative continues Saturday.
