Per 247 (CBS) a one Mark Jackson Jr. changed his mind and chose OU over A&M.

An LB, DE prospect that is 6'2" and 221 lbs.
Coming on strong at the finish. :D

Man, one more thing. This kid was laser timed at 4.59 in the 40.
For a kid that big that goes beyond speed and into velocity.

And in other news, Braxton Pickard a 3* rated punter\placekicker has accepted a position on the team as a preferred walk on.

I believe Caleb Kelly signs.
With Jackson OU now has 9 4-star recruits.........and counting.

Any particular reason for your optimism (that you can share in this forum)? It generally seems like we have a hard time going head to head with ND.

I believe it's possible that at least one true freshman linebacker plays this year. The ones already on the roster outside of Jordan Evans are either redshirts or just haven't proved themselves yet for the prime time.

Ricky DeBerry (RFr)
Tay Evans (So)
Arthur McGinnis (RFr)
Curtis Bolton (So)
Okoronkwo (Jr)
As I said, OU could play at least one true freshman linebacker....especially if Kelly comes on board.
I think DeBerry and McGinnis can be good players.
Bolton, Tay Evans and Okoronkwo need to step up now.

Maybe we should define the linebackers as "inside and outside". Jackson is a true outside rusher. Remind me, is Kelly a true run stopper or rusher?

Well, both really.

Plus his other gig is shagging down and covering the tight end if he plays the strong side, or SAM.

Guy must be good, he's been a hot commodity for two years.

Kelly is listed as an OLB.
Jackson is listed as a DE, but says he played both OLB and DE in high school.
Too early to project how they will line up defensively, but I would say that Kelly and his 4.7 speed winds up at ILB, and Jackson with his 4.6 speed plays at DE. From what I see and read, both may be too good to redshirt....especially considering OU's loss of 5 linebackers and DE Tapper.

That would be amazing if Jackson plays as a true freshman. He'll barely be 18 when the season starts.
