This is not a hill to die on. Quite the opposite - love this ad and love Sweeney. Won’t make me buy jeans for teenagers, but still. People need to move on….not everything is out to get you.

Reviewing this thread, a bunch of middle-aged (and older ) men do not find the Sweeney jeans ads offensive. I think it is safe to say that we represent broader society. It therefore can be concluded with certainty that these ads are not offensive to anyone.

She’s capitalizing on her 15 minutes. Who knows what the future holds, but she’s not the greatest actor out there. She’s the hot as balls, it girl of the moment.
There’s an interview of her talking about debating whether to take her first role which required her to be topless. She said her grandmother (I think) told her to do it and not think twice. Good advice that worked out well.
There are so many beautiful women. This one got the chance to capitalize on it and likely set herself up financially for life. Good for her. And us!

Interesting to me that Emily Ratajkowski complained that she couldn’t get acting work because of her big boobs, but Sweeney seems to have zero trouble at all….i think I need to be a casting director; I can fix this. There is enough room for all boobs I think…

Emily is tone deaf. The ONLY reason she is famous is because of her looks and boobs. Her acting sucks. Not much acting there. She was the side piece sex toy, right? The role was very limited.
I haven't followed this closely but I bet at least some of the hype over this isn't just people getting upset but also the jeans makers pushing it because it gets attention. If it wasn't for the upset over this ad who would be talking about it? Nobody. It's the same reason we constantly see WNBA stories that don't have anything to do with actual WNBA game play.
Also, Sweeney's not bad looking but she's not all that hot either. Maybe a 7. People make a huge deal out of how good looking a woman celebrity is even if they're not that great looking. If you walk across the PSU campus during class change time you'll see literally hundreds of women better looking than Sweeney. We're in the era of over the top hype about everything.

IMO, she sealed her fate in the Blurred Lines video. On the other hand, The White Lotus seems to be a springboard for a lot of actors.
It was very gratuitous and put her on the map, and really, had she leaned into it like Sweeney, she may have done better. But - she was a model first, not an actress, so can sort of see how the music video makes some sense - but, maybe hard to translate to TV/film if you’re going to protest use of your most well known asset.
