My family and I are planning to tailgate at the Michigan game and have never done it before. Was curious if anyone knows if college game day comes where they set that up and if it affects where tailgating space is available. Any insight or advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

You are going to love it….especially if we can pull off a win. I would imagine the atmosphere will be unbelievable. I’ve heard the Michigan home crowd is very inviting to out of conference fans. Now that may change by the end of the game. I hope so. Lol

The Michigan fans may not be so friendly this year given what was announced today. Pretty harsh penalty for the Wolverines, IMO.

I think the $20M fine is a little excessive.
Didn’t the Big 10 teams earn like $53M each in TV revenue last year? Thats just the cut from ESPN etc etc. I think those schools also have tier 2 and 3 incomes also.

what I am getting at is that I doubt they are hurting to bad with that fine. Unless they find a 20M QB that is.

The fine is going to be larger than that, as well, when all is said and done, imo.

$50k flat fine (bastcally nothing)
10% of football revenue (around $15m)
10% of football scholarships (around $7m)
All postseason payouts

Latest projections peg the fine at between $30-32m

Interestingly, the B1G evenly distributes all postseason monies. Postseason participants get the same as those that don't make a bowl. This means that they would be taking on the full cost of travel and expenses for any postseason trips.

Based on this info, I’m thinking the fine isn’t so bad. Thanks for the info, 59.

The cut for each team doesn't come into play until the team's expenses are paid for. The non bowl teams don't get more net than the bowl teams.
