Personally, I felt that Coach Braun's discussion of Jack Lausch was incredibly classy. Coach Braun did not need to take as much time and care as he did to praise a player that chose to leave the program for a different opportunity. It is little things like this that makes me proud that Coach Braun is our leader.

Here are @mshelton33's takeaways from Vegas.

I greatly appreciate seeing @mshelton33 attend B1G Ten Media Day in Las Vegas on his own dime! It truly is a labor of love for Lou and Matt.

Coach Braun has always gone out of his way to praise Jack Lausch. He loves the kid -- and for good reason. I don't think anyone blames Jack for pursuing baseball at this point. But I think it also speaks to Braun's leadership that, despite the admiration he has for Lausch personally, he didn't hesitate to go out and get a proven QB like Stone in the portal because it was the right move for the program.

I’d rather give them tips on freeloading.

e.g. the Panera unlimited coffee deal for a few bucks a month.

get that and you can fly anywhere with the savings, Matt Shelton!

Panera pales in comparison to my free subscription to the jelly of the month club. That's the gift that keeps on giving the whole year.

Spot on. Coach Braun is class all the way. If he can post a strong winning season this year, he will have a lot of naysayers jumping on his bandwagon.

I mean, he tried to do that last year with Wright, it's just that the pickings were really slim in the Spring Portal. All due respect to Lausch as a great overall athlete, he's not a B1G QB, nor have been any of our recruits since Thor. Lausch was probably around 25th best QB in the B1G last year (numerous backups better).

Stone's challenge will be whether his targets are any good.

There is a difference between being a classy guy and a strong Coach. Personally, I cant remember anyone having a bad thing to say about Braun. I believe everyone WANTS him to succeed.

There is enough talent here to make a bowl game. That is the minimum expectation by me. If he fails, there will be defenders on here blaming it of Fitz or something else. Last season the staff did a poor job. It wasn’t just the players. There were very shaky game plans, odd play calls, and we rarely came out with better in second half’s. So, we’ll see if they improve this season, if they don’t they should be gone after the season. If they improve, they should stay. Pretty simple. NU’s recent recruiting doesn’t cut it. The staff better be good at X’s and O’s And be developers like they say.

Agreed. Braun must make a bowl game, or else it is probably over for him. I think he’ll do it.
