Gavin has a strong arm and a big body. But those are not what I think of when I think “quarterback talents. What are the talents people are seeing that I’m not?

Umm.. "strong arm" is not something you think of as "quarterback talent".

Is that the meaning you intended in your message?

I watch Simon and Gavin last year...I felt Simon gave us a better shot at winning. To me there is something behind the scenes that is keeping Gavin the starter ...nil or whatever.. imagine..for second... Michigan.. Ohio State... Alabama..etc having a QB with a sub 50% rate and not looking to improve... we could have beat Wisconsin with accurate QB play. Gavin just misses too many throws. For all the people that say our wide receivers aren't getting open n we need better talent that's wrong... Gavin misses open receivers CONSISTENTLY. Also for the people who say Simon is a statue u haven't watched or done ur research. We have been a QB away from signature wins for the last few years...why don't you see that? I know Gavin has gotten better and I am encouraged because of that. He may be our best option but I feel Simon should get a shot because Gavin isn't where we need him to be...

Thank you Mr. Simon for your input

Simon looked poised and ready during his brief stint but let's not overstate what occurred. He entered the game after GW had driven the ball to Wisconsin 35 yard line. Simon was able to take it the final 35 yards. I would not refer to that as marching down the field.
Thank you but your facts are standing in the way of certain peoples narrative...LOL

It's an ability, not a talent. But as something which will develop as he progresses? No. Yu gonna recruit any kid with a strong arm.

A pitcher whocan throw hard has an ability but not a talent.

And yet he looked better. That is an objective and subjective measure.. "looked" being subjective while stats show the objective backing.

That said, we have seen him look good before.. and then bad.. and then good.. we saw "Good Simon" in his brief appearance. And I really do have a problem with them bringing Wimsatt back in.. because he got rocked. I wish we got to see more of Simon. If they thought bringing Wimsatt back in would squelch any backup-QB talk.. they were wrong.

And if Simon went on looking good.. looking better than Wimsatt in this one game? While that would have caused more talk and more possible turmoil.. c'mon.. how is that a bad thing? Finding out your backup QB can move the ball vs Wisconsin?

They should have given Simon teh rest of the game. Guess we now know why Simon wasn't given any time of note in any of the other games. They are going to make him transfer, aren't they?

Again, of course I do. And you think yours is. Isn’t that a given with differing opinions?
Never said such a thing. You did.
How do you know what I think???
You sure are argumentative. Is it difficult to accept a differing viewpoint?

Looks like another thread the bad guy starts that causes arguments that he doesn't participate in the discussion.
Just sits back in Happy Valley laughing at the trouble he's causing on a RU message board.

Absolutely amazing. Also the loudest and most negative poster in this thread is also a fan of another school! Makes you wonder.
