I will, out of the goodness of my Mountaineer heart, allow you to crab crawl out of the bet and save face. Never let it be said, Couch, doesn't have a heart. Besides, there is a 10% withdrawal penalty for removing funds from a 401k, and you'd have to claim it as ordinary income provided you are under 59 1/2. Second mortgages are a bad idea, and borrowing from friends is a relationship killer. I'll await your response.

Shortgap, I think he thought it was doubtful....If he actually came, he'd stay, get a flying WV tattoo and his own single wide in Motown and start loving life again. I'd let him put it on my back 40. I have a pool and a pond he could swim in; pond would be good for him.
