You got one thing right in your hypothetical it's definitely stoops fault and he needs to be bought out and sent packing

Nah. Stoops deserves a chance.
Ridiculous to think of buying him out in June.
He’s done an awful lot for UK football.
6 wins and another bowl would be good for this season and schedule. He’s a fighter and I think he might just get it. Hope so for the team.

He might be ready to retire after the season. Old school guy and this new era of transfers and nil is horrible for coaches… and fans.

I do agree the Texas AM flirtation expedited this train wreck last year and this year looks to be another disaster.

But to be fair....this decline has been on the tracks for a few years.

- 2022 was a disappointment to have Levis back, some young WR/RB talent and a good defense in place and to lose at home to Vandy, USCjr and inept offense to finish with a brutal Music City Bowl performance....it started then...and was pointing to Stoops inability to field a good offense w/o Coen and Schlarman Oline influence.

- 2023...Coen comes back but it was a 1 year rental, obvious disconnect with Stoops and Coen is gone. The offense was improved but still slippage and the Oline was a struggle to hold the LOS...and now the slippage of locker leadersship starts to come to light. Our ability to be a bear for other team at LOS starts to show more and more.

- Stoops does his Texas AM flirtation...and as nutty as can be. Mitch just takes him back in full w/o any revisions to the crazy contract...and it was a prime time to at least take the guaranteed years off into infinity......but Mitch doubles down on his bad contract.

- 2024....absolute disaster. Lose again to Vandy at home, USCjr blows us away at home...hte offense is a full meltdown as Bush Hamden's middle school play book is a mess.

- 2025....it's hard to see this year as anything but a mess again.

I just see a program slipping a few years before Texas AM..
