Finish Strong2 just said in an earlier post that Tarboro will just "reload" again next year. I don't have any doubt that Tarboro will be considered a consensus favorite next year, but I just can't imagine next year's team being better than this one. You are losing the Edges, Keon, CJ, and Jyron. That's pretty much every skill position other than QB. Melik and Medford will be missed on the interior. Kendarius Jenkins was a great DB for us. There are others I am omitting and I apologize if there are any that are glaring. The Vikings have a LOT of skill on the way out. I am sure there are guys coming up that want to make their mark. A lot will be decided on how well they prepare themselves in the offseason. While I am a big Tarboro supporter, I live elsewhere and I don't get to see the JV or Middle school teams play. This is a call out to the other Tarboro posters. Break down what is coming up. Obviously Massenburg and McDaniels will be back, but where will the offensive production come from?

17 and 34 will be big time players for us next year. Also, I’ve only seen derick blacks son play a few times, but man, that kid is going to be special.

Jalen Razor and Naz Black are going to be elite backs next year as juniors.

Razor is similar to CJ Joyner and Black is a little smaller than Keon but I’d say he compares to him

I also agree that Travis Dickens (#34) will jump right in the Fullback spot as a junior next year. He’s about the same size as Edge.

Congratulations to Tarboro on winning their 3rd straight 1AA Championship. Nobody is beating them. I said it in August and I'll say it again.

Offensively i think we will be state championship caliber - it’ll be interesting to see how our defense is next year. Will get a good test in week 1 because we open up with 3A Rocky Mount

It's always interesting to see how much sizzle they can create with very little steak. I guess that's the world we live in today.

Next season will also be the 50th season of Tarboro Viking football. That’s something to look forward to in 2019.

How old can a kid be in high school ,if you fail ,can a twenty year old be allowed to play football .

Look East got handled ,I didn’t think their pass game would get shut down,but hey it happened , but I know people look for excuses to why they beat ,but many people brought up a valid point .Some of those kids from Tarboro look to be in their twenty’s,just speculation I know .In all seriousness is there a age limit in high school sports.

I’ve seen many amazing specimens on the opponents side of the field. SWE had a 6’6” WR. In 2009 Mountain Heritage had a pair of offensive tackles that were 6’2 and at least 375 each. Seriously though, you don’t get to the state championships by lining up ineligible players. Those kinds of things are reputational, and no one in Tarboro would do anything to delegitimize what we do.

Hey Tarboro has a great team ,those kids are awesome ,congratulations from Cards fans ,much respect .Hope they have bright futures.

Exactly. If your measuring stick up to now has been Mount Airy, now you have something bigger to reach for.

You can’t be 19 before Oct. 15th I believe. If you turn 19 after that date then it’s fine. Don’t think that has changed but not. 100% sure

The more I think about it Redbird I can see why you’re so upset. You’ve been playing second-fiddle to Mount Airy in Surry county all these years - and the year you finally break out of the shadows you get beat by 40 in your schools biggest game ever. Must be hard to deal with.

Lol ,you got just about a big a mouth as some of the Tarboro fans at the game.Disrespectful shouting bullcrap at kids from East ,I’ve been on here giving credit to where it’s due ,Tarboro is good,very ,keep downing East all u want .

14 10 ar half by a mainly jr and freshman team not bad,second half not so great ,we could move 20 to 20 pretty good ,but give it to Vikings it’s lockdown in red zone .

2015 East Surry team that was put out 3rd round that year ,was better than this Tarboro team. Across the board it’s been a down year talent wise ,Tarboro like I said is good,but to think they can compete with some. 2 3 or 4 a is crazy.Reidsville would beat them any day of week ,and by watching Shelby I would say they lose by 20 .

Shelby and Reidsville way better teams .Maybe they need to come on up and try Reidsville LoL ,then you guys can lay that theory to rest .

That run game is consistent no doubt ,but when you meet the right team ,u better be able to pass to keep em honest . By the looks of the two passes I saw ,I’d say stick to your run game.

I think you may want to reevaluate that statement. The 2015 ES team was really good (I got to watch them play 4-5 times), but they didn’t have anywhere close to the team speed that the Cards saw in Tarboro on Saturday. They would NOT have beaten this 2018 Tarboro team and it’s foolish to say so. If you watched the 2AA game at all it’s safe to say Tarboro would have beaten N.Davidson (maybe not Shelby, but they would give them a really good game). I guarantee this Tarboro team would never have lost to the 2015 Walkertown team that ended up beating ES!
