I can honestly say I drink the Tarboro Koolaid as much as anyone but I have to agree with some of the other posters. Tarboro's best athlete is at QB. Mallard creek has about 15 of those kids bigger and faster than Tarboro's best athlete. That's before you even get into the hog mollies on the line of scrimmage. Tarboro has great coaches but Mallard creek can beat you a number of different ways on offense. They just have too many options and athletes to utilize on O to get W's. Tarboro relies on speed on defense. They know most teams they face will not be able to match it. That would quickly become a non factor against a team like Mallard Creek this year and most years.
In Tarboro we all know which pond we belong in and we are not going into the ocean and get ate by the sharks.

Tarboro you might just get what you're looking for this year..... The MICS Machine is cranked up like never before. .. pay attention real talent is in the building
You do realize that what we are looking for is another 40+ point beat down of any opponent we meet...right? MICS will fit the bill just fine. If only...
That Mickey mouse misdirection offense real run into the real..... Defensively your athletes will be tested like never before... Something like that beat down WRH gave you a few seasons ago

Any edge you can get in football to maximize your own talent... There are 100 different ways to play football. Spread is good for some, single wing or T for others.
So that admits the SMC is superior athletes according to your win-loss record with them, right ?
So worried about what Tarboro does with the ball when you should be worried about what they do when the other team has the ball. It's not like they're winning ball games 60-58. They're winning 60-0. That 60 comes from the opposition running 3 plays and punting all the time. Can't help but hang half a hundred on someone when you constantly get the ball, and most of the time, near midfield. If the offense is Mickey Mouse, then the defense is Mike Tyson.
Come into a game with the great MICS and think your not about to get that work... No goose eggs here.... Our offense will give you 50

It seems impossible that a team that can't even advance past the second round of the playoffs is luring my fellow Viking supporters (and SWE'98...the little jock sniffer...lol!) into a useless accumulation of bulletin board material. In all seriousness, the best MIC can hope for this year is being a skid mark under the wheels of East Surry, but still...Well played, sir!

My input on playing the bigger schools. My WRH bulldogs (one of the smallest 2a schools in the state) gave 4aa Wake Forest all they wanted for 4 quarters with a backup QB. WRH had over 500 yards of offense. So competing with the big boys is rare but not out of the realm of possibility.
Looks like the Dogs and SWE Cougars may be in line for a second round matchup. SWE is a pretty tough nut to crack this year. I wish it could be a first round game. I am always looking for a good first round game to attend since Tarboro has its annual bye into the second round each year. Beddingfield is actually about 15 minutes from my house, so if I want to see the Dogs beat the stuffins out of Beddingfield on the road, that's one projected 1st round option.

Good news is if you can get past WRH, the Cougars should be battle tested and ready for Red Springs and Clinton. SWE has to break through at some point!! They just have to.
I agree, In my opinion SWE has all the pieces and is well suited to be a huge factor in the small 2A if that happens. I haven't seen the dogs yet. There is a good chance I'll go see them in the first round. I think alot of 2A teams are overlooking the possibility of what SWE can bring. I think this will play in their favor.
It seems like these good SWE teams can never catch a break. Blocked XP derailed an undefeated season against EA. Botched fg derailed an undefeated season against Reidsville. Questionable call on a 2pt conversion against Kinston. Running into SWO. Running into 4A North Davidson. And now possibly WRH in the SECOND? Jeez!
This is the playoffs! The Farmville Centrals, Berties and Trasks are all done now. You have to beat the good teams to get the chance to be the best team! The Cougars have only lost one game. There should be several opportunities to pull out the gimmick tables and water down the field as long as you keep winning.
