Tarboro kicks off the season on the road against the Rocky Mount gryphons. Tarboro graduated a strong senior class but returns a solid group of players from last season. Who you guys got in this one?
This game and Hertford county are the two games I expect if Tarboro will lose in the regular season it would be them two games.I don’t really know what to expect. I think if Tarboro is going to lose a game in the regular season, this will be it. Can’t wait until next Friday
Jordan getting hurt concerns me. Hopefully Jerome makes a full comeback.I’m expecting both games to be a good one with Tarboro coming out on top. My only problem is the secondary. With Jordan Williams out this year w/ a torn ACL & another DB going down in the jamboree in Jerome Bridgers that’s my only concern but I expect Tabios to pick up where he left off from & the other young backs! Hopefully we start off 2-0 & the rest is history!
They said he’ll be back in a few weeks. Yea that Jordan injury is big. He was definitely going to ball out this yearJordan getting hurt concerns me. Hopefully Jerome makes a full comeback.
I was told at the jamboree that Jordan may be back by playoff time. Don't know if that was good info or not. The secondary is a real concern, Havelock hit two back to back long td's. They looked to be jump balls but they were big. The low number of players, the least i've seen in decades, is another concern. On the good side, the JV team performed well and they have some huge linemen. I could see some of those guys coming up if injuries start to plague the varsity team. They said he’ll be back in a few weeks. Yea that Jordan injury is big. Hopefully he is back by playoff time. And yeah if Havelock managed to do that against our secondary that is concerning but I will say this it is a jamboree and I'd rather have that happen in the jamboree then in a actual game. Hopefully our coaching staff takes note of what happened and make adjustments plus Havelock is probably a top 10 all around team in the state. I really think the reason why our numbers are so low is because of covid.I was told at the jamboree that Jordan may be back by playoff time. Don't know if that was good info or not. I wouldn't count out you guys neither considering the fact we are playing at your place this year. And it's never easy going to Southwest edgecombe playing you guys.Tarboro 28
Rocky Mount 21
Tarboro 34
Hertford 13
I agree that we give Tarboro their toughest game every year, but I still think we are a year away from being elite again, with the new overhaul from the new coach. And you guys will see us in game one when you play Rocky Mount, seeing as that's where our new coach came from. That's gonna be a huge advantage for you.I wouldn't count out you guys neither considering the fact we are playing at your place this year. Think the late injury we had in the jamboree may hurt us for this game. Thankfully, I heard he will only be out around six weeks.I was thinking out lack of depth might be an issue against Rocky Mount but looking at their roster in MaxPreps and they only had 29 players listed last week.
I saw today where Rocky Mount added 10 more freshman and sophomores (assuming because they don’t have a JV team this year) to the roster to give them 40, but both teams should have about the same number of traditional varsity players suited up.
Oh no I hope we don't have a redo of 2019 againFYI!! The game will be 6:30pm Friday. Not 7! No clue why either.
i'm on board with you. Each year you always see three, four or a half dozen players on the side line in street clothes. Some hurt in games others in practice and maybe a suspension or two. I don't think we can function very well if that happens this year. Also we probably won't have that smothering defense we are all use to. Three of those first four games are going to be hard and physical. We have to come away healthy. Our depth is what concerns me. Loosing a great back during the jamboree is going to hurt as well. I expect us to take some lumps early on, especially being young, but still expect us to make a good run come playoff time
Lol right!Oh no I hope we don't have a redo of 2019 again.
Well if Friday washes us out Saturday night looks pretty goodLol right!![]()
The forecast actually does look pretty good for Thursday this Time lol.Just saw on Facebook they moved the game to Thursday night at 7 I guess because of the rain on Friday.
They did the same thing in 2019 against RM and it poured down on Thursday night and didn’t rain a drop on that Friday.
Plenty of parking right there by the stadium.Has anyone ever been to a game at the new Rocky Mount stadium? If so, how’s the parking? It doesn’t look like they have a lot of parking close to the stadium on google earth.
Better make adjustments. We’re probably going to lose this game but I’m very impressed with Tarboro. We are very young, outsized significantly by Rocky Mount and we’ve battled the whole night. We will be just fine in 1A
I still think we’re going to be fine. Rocky Mount will be the toughest team we play all year. They are bigTarboro appears to be headed towards getting shut out
I agree with that. Our defense has played well. Best believe every team the rest of the year gonna try to do what Rocky Mount did tonight.I still think we’re going to be fine. Rocky Mount will be the toughest team we play all year. They are big
