I love the targeting and then pictures ! Awesome .Sad though ,EVEN instant REPLAY could not get the Gerry call correct.
I hope this targeting RULE is changed during the off season. I get the quick reflex call of the refs on the field, but the replay booth has just SUCKED. NO WAY I thought Gerry would be thrown out against the bruins.

Targeting: Occurs when a player contacts another player near the head or chest or shoulder or maybe even the arm in such a way that it looks pretty bad to an official.
Like I said , the rule needs to be more lenient or more precise. The Gerry call was an abomination of targeting. Why do we have instant replay ? It obviously isn't worth a ****.

WTH was Bosa doing? Who tackles someone like that? Dead on with the crown of his helmet...
He is lucky that he didn't break his neck.
I can still hear my high school coach: "Don't go in with your head down, that's how you can get hurt. Go in with your head up, stick your face mask into them, then you won't get hurt." (The other mantra was "don't do anything half speed, that's when you'll get hurt")

I also hate how often they fail to flag defenders for hitting a defenseless player/ a player who wasn't expecting it/ a player who didn't want to be tackled. It happens every game on all the nonscoring plays and frankly has no place in the football I want to watch.

It's getting called way too often. Incidental contact is inevitable. It should only be called if it's a blatant, much like the way roughing the passer is called. Unfortunately the current hysteria over concussions is a threat to the very future of football.

I'd be curious to watch a game using leather helmets and leather shoulder pads (some type of face guard would still be needed). There would be a lot less hitting but the players would be faster on the field.

Great pictures. This is indeed a penalty that needs to be reworked to be fair to defensive players making good and legal plays.
