Why? The article didn’t mention sports. Attendance, as we all know, will be under control and limited so why “throw in the towel” comment(?). Students have proven themselves to be untrustworthy by going to “covid19” party’s and basically not giving a big chit one way or the other.

Although the UNC outbreak is disappointing, there are some very good trends nationwide. The 7-day moving average number of new cases per day has dropped from a high of 69,328 on 7/25 to 50,800 yesterday. That’s almost 27% in 23 days.

The last two days have been even better: 37,682 new cases on Sunday and 40,612 on Monday, so that 7-day average is almost certain to continue dropping. Mask wearing in public, especially in urban areas, appears to be helping in a significant way.

I look forward to seeing UofL's plan regarding attendance at Cardinal Stadium. I know Frankfort is still reviewing. I've been a season ticket holder since 1998. While that may help to determine who gets to go and who doesn't, I fear, given that I'm not in a high dollar seat, that little ol' CardX might get left out.

Notre Dame is also seeing a spike of COVID infections primarily linked to a back-to-school party. They’ve suspended all in-person classes for two weeks - remote learning only.

7-day moving average in the US has dropped to 45,222 new cases per day. Yesterday’s new case total was a little higher: 50,455, so we might be leveling out at the 45K new cases per day level for a while.

This could go either way from here ... mask wearing is helping to offset these reports of back-to-school parties, large gatherings with few masks being worn at high school football games, and massive gatherings with few masks at biker rallies.

The anti mask truthers are ruining this for all of us. Please wear a mask in public, everyone! It’s working, and it could work even better if everyone does it.

Even if you think you are invincible, you come into contact with people who aren’t. Please wear a mask!

ND started back practicing after missing two practices. They start back on campus classes this week but it might not last long. Speculators predicts ND will play football even if the students are sent home. It might even be safer for the players if the student body is sent home IMHO.

This.
I understand the logic of people advocating for the student athletes by saying they shouldn’t be on campus if the other students aren’t. However, fewer people around makes the environment safer, and the athletes have access to health care 7 days a week, which the average student does not. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that this works!

I'm wondering how the teams that played over the weekend test come out this week?
